Chapter 3

Perseus opened the door to the giant metal bird and climbed in. It was all white inside, instead of the usual red and pink. He sat down and put his bags up in a hole in the wall. Then someone told him to “buckle your seatbelt”. When Perseus asked her how, she smiled and said, “Let me show you”. The woman sat down, grabbed the buckle and pulled down the flat rope and then attached it into the pocket. Perseus tried four times, on the fifth time he got it.

After fifteen hours in the pure white metal bird called a plane, Perseus staggered out with his two bags.

As he goes into the security line Perseus thinks this is a very bright, cold, and strange place.

After Iris grumpily got through security, she stood with her bags waiting for her escort.

This sucks! When will I ever see my brother Jax? She stood there lost in thought when a loud siren broke her out of it.

She saw a tall, large, muscular man running towards her, security close behind him. Two families walked in front of him. To dodge them he ran into her, full, force knocking her over, her luggage spreading across the floor.

“What the heck!” she said frustrated. “S-sorry” he murmured offering Iris his hand. She took it gladly.

After she was up a few chubby security guys ran up, their hands on their knees panting. “You, huh, you need to c-come with us.” One of the guys said, out of breath. “What is going on here?” Iris asked annoyed. The two security guards stood up straight when they realized who she was. “Who are you? Why are you chasing me?” The man asked confused. “Perseus, is it? You brought illegal weapons overseas.” The security guard said, reaching for his handcuffs.

Iris looked Perseus up and down. Those clothes are odd. He must be from another country. He probably has no idea what’s going on. She thought.

“Wait a moment.” She said sternly. “Y-yes Miss Raven?” One of the guards stuttered. “Um, uh. H-he’s with me. I ordered those knives for my father’s hunting collection. I do apologize for the inconvenience. If you could forget this I would appreciate it.” Iris lied through her teeth. Perseus stood there confused, then understanding said, “O ya” “O-Oh w-we are so sorry Miss Raven. We will fix this mistake immediately. You may go on your way, sir.” The guard said handing Perseus his bags.

They walked out of the building, on the way to Iris Raven’s limo, waiting to take her to boarding school.

As they walked out to the other side of the street, Perseus started to say something when a tour bus lost control and started speeding toward them. Perseus jumped in front of her with his back facing the bus. Iris thought, what is he doing, he is going to get himself killed!, when the bus collided with Perseus. Iris looked up and saw the bus, tipped over, flying at incredible speeds. The triple-decker landed with a crunch.

People swarmed Perseus and Iris. News broadcasters budge their way through the crowd and turn on their cameras. “Man saves a woman from being crushed by a triple-decker bus, survivors are being taken care of, what do you have to say sir,” said a newswoman. “Bye” said Perseus as he leaped over the swarm of people and ran off into the forest six miles east. “What!?” everyone said.
