Into Another World (The Lost Souls Trilogy)

"Here, take this..." Riku said softly, as he draped a big soft blanket over the shivering Aoi.

"Th-Thank you..." Aoi was still trying to get used to speaking english

"Hai," Riku nods. Aoi shyly smiles, making Riku blush.

Everywhere Riku or Alyona went, Aoi followed. Riku and Aoi were walking to the living room of the orphanage, where most of the kids hung out. It was considered the warmest room of the orphanage, all because there was a fireplace there. Aoi and Riku sat down on the floor next to the fireplace.

"Warm?" Riku wondered.

"Hai..." Aoi nods, softly replying.

"Try saying yes," Riku giggles.

"I know how to say yes," Aoi said stubbornly. "Give something hard."

"Ok ok," Riku had to think of other words to help Aoi talk more. She lays on her stomach as he gets lost in thought. "How about this word?" He shows Aoi the word, anemone.

"Ani..no.. me? What?" Aoi furrowed her eyebrows. "Ana.. mom.. ee?" she started getting frustrated, and Riku giggled. "An no ene?"

"Nope!" Riku bursts laughing as Aoi slightly blushed.

"Stop laughing! English is hard," Aoi cried, she softly punched Riku's shoulder. Riku couldn't stop, it was amusing to him. "Don't make me smack you!"

"Then say it correctly." Riku snickers.

"What are you two laughing about?" Alyona plops down next to Riku and Aoi. Riku started calming down, letting out a slight giggle every few seconds. Aoi glared at him. "Am I interrupting something or...?"

"No, no you're not. Just teaching Aoi english," Riku smiles.

"I can't pronounce this word, and he's laughing at me." Aoi stubbornly shows Alyona anemone. "Seriously it annoys me not knowing..."

"Anemone?" Alyona reads aloud.

"Anenenenome?" Aoi tilts her head. Alyona and Riku giggled, trying not to laugh out loud again.

"No no, anemone," Alyona snickers.

"An enemy?"

"Close enough," Alyona giggled, patting Aoi's soft head. Aoi stuck out her tongue at her, like an immature little kid.

Romeo came and sat down next to Alyona, holding two separate clipboards in his hands. "Sarah has these for you, she needs you to fill them out."

Alyona took one, raising an eyebrow. "What is this for?"

"Information sheets, if anyone comes to adopt, which almost never happens... uh... anyway they'll need these." Romeo handed the other one to Aoi.

They both sat in silence, mumbling to each other occasionally as they filled them out. It was a simple form, with seven or so questions. Full name, age, likes, dislikes, medical information, the date, and then a signature.

"What today's date?" Alyona asked, glancing up at Romeo who was sitting on the couch.

"February sixth, 2020."

Alyona nodded and wrote it down on the paper. Aoi did the same. They both handed the clipboards to Romeo who took them to Sarah's office Riku followed him. The two were left alone in the room.

"When did you go into underground?" Alyona asked, turning to Aoi.

"Long time ago, I don't remember the date, but it wasn't 2020."
