Oh-So-Awesome Nerdy

Chapter 9

I took a few breaths before removed my eye glasses. I also removed my bun and let my hair fall. I gently unscrew my fake braces, I wince 'coz it still hurts. I removed them and put it in to its container. I looked at the two girls, a shock expression on their faces. 

"Wow, kamukha mo si Shana!" Rachel said. I rolled my eyes. 

"I am Shana" I said. Their eyes got wide. 

"No way! Hindi ikaw si Shana. Kamukha mo lang siya" Karylle said. I took my latest close up picture and placed it next to my face. I copied my pose in the picture and looked at Karylle and Rachel. 

"No... Hindi ako naniniwala" Rachel said. Suddenly my bedroom door creaked open and Vince came in. 

"It's true. She's Shana Jones" we all looked at him. I'm still mad at him though. 

"Get out Vince" I said calmly. 

"No Sophie, I'm sorry. Please forgive me" Vince answered. 

"No. give me more time. Go to sleep. I can explain everything to them myself. Good night" he sighs and went out of my room. 

"Look. It's really me. I'm Shana Jones ok, I moved here in the Philippines 'coz I wanted to have a break in showbiz. I want to be normal for awhile. My manager agreed to my idea but we have an agreement. Once my true identity is revealed to everyone, I'll be coming back to LA for good. That's why I told this secret to both of you 'coz I trust you guys. And I know you won't tell anyone, right?" I looked down. I think I'm gonna cry. "I want to stay here. I'm happier here than in LA. People here are being true to me. Please, don't tell anyone" a sob escaped my lips. Karylle and Rachel hugged me. 

"Sa totoo lang Sophie, ang hirap maniwala pero don't worry. Give us time para mag sink in sa utak namin lahat ng sinabi mo" Karylle said. I nodded. 

"Nga pala, bat nasa iisang bahay kayo ni Vince?" Rachel asked. 

"We're best friends. His family and my family are very close. They're business partners. And Vince wanted to come with me here in the Philippines" Rachel nodded. I smiled. "You like him, do you?" I teased. She blushed. Oh, revenge is sweet. 

"Hindi ah!" 

"Defensive much?" 

"Eh, di naman talaga eh" 

"Sus Rachel, deny pa. Halata ka naman eh" Karylle added. I laughed. 

"Fine! Gusto ko siya! Crush ko, ayan! Masaya na kayo?!" Rachel admitted. I knew it! 

"Sabi na nga ba eh!" I said, still proud of myself. 

"Hey Shana, pwede bang mag papicture? You know... Idol kita! And... you're here, in front of me! Nasa bahay mo kami... oh gosh!" I laughed. 

"No, I'm sorry pero hindi pwede" I said. 

"Aw, please.. Kahit isa lang!" Karylle pleaded. 

"Sorry girl. Di talaga pwede eh. Don't worry, you'll have your chance" I told her and she nodded. 

"Don't worry Sophie. Kaming bahala sayo. Itatago namin yang secret mo hanggang maka graduate tayo. We will protect you" Rachel told me. I smiled at them and gave them a hug. I'm lucky I have these two girls around. At least I don't feel guilty anymore.

"Sophie, hija.. Gising na, tanghali na" nanay Inday is at my door, waking me up. I looked at the two girls who are still sleeping. The three of us slept in my bed since it is a queen size bed. The three of us fit. I gently walked out from my room and went down stairs. 

"Nanay Inday, anong oras na po?" 

"8:30 na hija. Upo ka na dun sa lamesa. Gigisingin ko lang yung dalawa mong kaibigan" I nodded and went to sit in the dinning table.
