Sean had been travelling neural pathways burnt over many years of alcohol and drug abuse. The journeys were short now, hard to find. The vehicle was music, it took him like a vibrating wave through flashing imagery and with his eyes closed he felt like a shaman, getting glimpses of truth and offers of enlightenment. Always when his mind wandered like this he would see giants, giants in the land, a hill a shoulder, huge trees arms. They watched him with boulder eyes when he journeyed, smiled at him as his id passed them in treble helix. Sean opened his own eyes to look at the giants arm's he had adorned with bangles, he was going to nod at them wondering if they liked his present, but the moon had come down and taken on a female form. She was dancing to the song, she wore long plaited hair that fell forward, she was a beautiful glimmering girl and Sean was thrilled, he'd never had this vision before. He looked at her attire, she was wearing a T shirt that read:
AC/DC - Let There be Rock!
That didn't make any sense, The Moon liked AC/DC? He was bounced out of his mental travels and arrived firmly at the table under the trees post the Pole Shift. He slurred:
"Are you the Moon?" The girl stopped her dancing and her head cocked slightly.
"No - Mnem." She double barreled giggled.
"Why are you wearing that AC/DC T shirt?" The glimmering girl looked at her T Shirt and replied:
"Oh, this must be Janet's." The last hope that the Moon was an AC/DC fan and this was a vision fled Sean, he wished he wasn't so wasted - he had a beautiful visitor. He tried to place a few cans to one side, move the bong out of sight. He looked down the lawn in the fading light at the rubbish he had left and whispered:
"I'm usually a bit tidier, if I had known you were coming I would have -" He trailed off, trying to stand but nearly toppling over the table. The girl took an arm and helped him sit back down, Tess all over her as if she were The Queen of the Dogs. Mnem repeated what Janet had said:
"I know you are a loser - some kind of write off but I bet that's because of a reason."
"Probably because I like it." Mnem thought about that, it was a hard to get around, she did things she liked because she liked them too. She looked at his scabby ear, he had a crystal it was true, there must be something about him just like she knew she had something about her that was important.
"I think saying that is like a shield. Never mind. We will stay with you I think, this will be a beautiful Island! Me you and Janet is that okay?" Sean felt a mixture of emotions, something akin to winning the lottery and also a deep fear he couldn't put his finger on. He wondered what Janet looked like, he wondered if there was any vodka he might have stashed. How could he cope with out booze? Selfish feelings banged him like a gong and as he fretted he cast his eye down to the bottom of the Island. There was shadowy movement, a hulking figure was being helped down the wall by two slender bodies, and striding up the lawn were two men carrying clubs.
