'When Macka got notified that two of his subjects were interacting in a hostile situation he shook his head. The coincidence was hard to comprehend. He was also angry, he should have known well in advance that the possibility Sean and Lett would meet was real, after all it seemed Lett was intent on ditching her stooges and going it alone in the hills, she would have her eyes open to someone like Sean, the drunk, the dreamer.
Macka had seen nothing in Sean to warrant attention. In fact he was the least likely to contribute anything to a New World. The times he had spent watching the man through various drones were depressing. Watching a forty year old man pad around a house, over indulge in whatever pleasures he could, then selfishly stock pile food as if it were a game was exactly the kind of person a devastated civilisation didn't need. Prophet must have known something he didn't. He shook his head.
"Tarp and Rifle." Macka whispered, as he banged on Sean Water's door. Prophet was offering too much advice, it had told him Sean had a loose plan to use Lett, it told him Lett was fluid, she had more than one plan. Sometimes Prophet confused him, it sounded like an uncertain human rather than the AI he relied on for decision making. He knew Sean was sitting at the top of the stairs as if he were one of the Von Trapp children and that he had been drunk and feeling lonely as a midnight rocket. He realised he would probably have to make disclosure to them and he hoped the Pole Shift would happen soon, they weren't suppose to know they had help until the last minute. The door opened, and the impressive female met his gaze with confidence.
"Lett Smith? Step inside and sit down please." Her confidence tottered on the door step.
"How did you know that name, my name, who are you?" Macka ignored her, drew his pistol and raised his voice.
"Sean Waters! Come down stairs." Prophet had warned him Lett preferred flight and had switched her weight to face towards the door. He shut it and looked at her profoundly, uncertainty bloomed and she complied by sitting on the grubby sofa.
