Much to the relief of the girls Belfast and the maids managed to break Commander Tran out of his destructive routine, and slowly but surely he was returning to his normal appearance and then some- thanks to a new regimen that included a good few hours of workout in the base's gym, the commander gained some weight along with muscle, and he was more relaxed overall. A week had passed since Belfast's intervention and the commander was looking stronger and more handsome than ever.
"Whew! I can't thank you enough Belfast for snapping me out of it." Commander Tran says as he emerges from the lab with a strange tech box labeled T0.
"You are very welcome. It is a maid's duty to also make sure their master is well." Belfast replies. "But what is that?"
"The fruits of our research." Commander Tran says as the girls crowd around to see what's inside the box. At the flip of a lock the box opens up to reveal a strange rifle like device. It looks even more futuristic than what the Ironblood have, sporting coils around the barrel part of the device and a gauge of some sorts that goes from 0 to 100.
"What is that?" Enterprise asks.
"This, is a railgun." Commander Tran replies. "Normally railguns are at least thirty times the size of this because you need super powerful magnets to shoot a projectile well beyond mach ten. Well thanks to our work we managed to scale it down into a mountable cannon, and we've created super powerful HE ammo to go along with the gun."
"Interesting." Pennsylvania says. "Are you still going to use the bunker buster shells?"
"Of course. We can always use something that can pack a good punch." Commander Tran replies. "I'm thinking of giving this gun to our carriers so they have some means of defense."
"Give us that?" Lexington asks. "Are you sure we can handle that kind of firepower?"
"It's going to have a ton of recoil so it might not be too well of a fit for you or Saratoga." Commander Tran replies. "But Yorktown and company might be able to handle it."
"I think we can." Enterprise says as she takes the railgun and gets a feel for the new weapon.
"It's a prototype though, so I'm relying on you to see if this thing works like it should." Commander Tran replies.
"The enemy is waiting for us outside." Hornet says. "Why don't we give them a warm welcome?"
"We shall." Commander Tran replies. "Dido!"
"Yes master?" Dido asks as she rushes over.
"Keep an eye on the other maids for us will you? Belfast and Newcastle will be coming along with us." Commander Tran replies.
"Yes master!" Dido replies as she walks off.
"I haven't seen battle in a while but that doesn't mean I'm rusty." Newcastle chuckles. "Let's see to it that we send the enemy packing."
"Alright everyone, let's move out!" Commander Tran calls out as everyone heads out to the docks and the commander gets in his flagship. Just as the Crimson Axis promised, they haven't attacked and have only put their ships out in patrol, waiting for the moment the Eagle Union is ready for an attack. As soon as they move out the ships ready their cannons and the leaders of the Crimson Axis emerge.
"Ah, the commander is back in good shape I see!" Bismarck chuckles as she, Mikasa, Akagi and Kaga emerge. "It's good that you've turned yourself around for the better. Now we can go all out without having to worry!"
"I think you'll like the new technology we have." Commander Tran chuckles as he looks at Enterprise, who has stowed away the railgun for now. "For now let us show you just what we're capable of! All cannons FIRE!"
