Jack was swinging on the swing set in a park. To say he was emotionally drained, would be an understatement. It was now 8:00 PM and most of the children had left the park (except the teenagers. They were standing underneath a slide doing drugs or something. Sure, Jack was a responsible citizen, but today, he was just out of it.
"Thought I'd find you here," Zach angelic voice grinned from the side of the park. Zach trudged over to Jack and sat down on the swing beside him.
"What's up?"
"Nothing...Just, eh." Jack responded. Zach cocked his head and stared at the teens under the slide. He returned his attention the Jack and smiled at the older.
"So, do explain why you asked me out to the movies, then ghosted me by sitting at a park on a swing set on the other side of town," Zach asked, his mood completely changing.
"Oh shoot! It was today?! Sorry, Zach, I- I forgot. My mistake! I'll make it up to you, I swear,"
"Don't make empty promises, Jack. Now, tell me what's up. Something wrong, and you're being a bitch by not telling me,"
Jack looked away, not wanting the younger to see his vulnerability. "Nothing's wrong, Zach,"
"Mhm, Like I'm taking any of that shit. Totally. Now, either I have to drag you to the literal pits of hell, or you'll tell me, which would you prefer?" Zach asked, raising his eyebrows. Jack rolled his eyes. Why did he fall in love with this idiot again?
"Well? I'm waiting for an answer. I don't got all day, still have to sneak back into my house."
"Waitwaitwaitwait you snuck out?!" Jack hollered, eyes raised.
"Yeah, how else do you think I'd be able to leave the house? Don't you remember I got grounded for getting too many detentions, thanks to Jonah?" Zach asked, in disbelief.
"Ican'tbelieveyousnuckoutformeandIstoodyouupomigodI'msosorry." Jack rambled.
"Can you speak English, please?"
"Nevermind! Lemme make it up to you! Uh...dinner? We can catch a movie...no, but if you have to leave then-! I'm so sorry, Zach, it's just that things- things were going on and w-with the divorce and stuff I just- I- 'm out of it and-"
"Jack, shut up! And breathe, please. It's alright, Jack. Okay? We'll get ice cream. I just want to spend time with you!"
"So, we're going to go on an ice cream date for our anniversary?" Jack asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, Ice Cream Anniversary! Look, all I want is to be with you! heck, we could just chill here and talk, and I'd be fine!" Zach smiled, grabbing Jack's hand. Jack squeezed Zach's hand and pulled the younger up.
"Ice cream it is," he smiled, pressing his lips to Zach's. Whenever they kissed, Jack always felt sparks ignite inside of him. No matter what, his stomach would churn and he'd end up wanting more. More kisses, more hugs, more lopsided grins. Zach smiled at the older and looked at his shoes, cheeks red(der than usual) and a huge grin on his face.
"Shall we?"
"We shall."
