Jack sat in his bed, legs pulled against  staring at the wall. He felt empty inside and just so very sad. He'd seen photos that he wished he hadn't seen. He'd been tweeted for the best day from Limelights. Some were telling him that they were single, others were wishing him the best and telling him that they were there for him. The curly-head glanced at his phone when he heard it ding. A text from his girlfriend. Or rather ex-girlfriend. Jack glared at the phone and threw it onto the ground with a greater force than intended.

He was so busy moping he didn't even realize when a certain brunette poked his head into his room. He was smiling at first, about to call the older down for lunch, but that smile immediately vanished when he saw Jack's tear-stained face. Zach padded over to the bed and sat down in front of him. He placed a hand on Jack's knee smiling sadly.

"What do I do, Zach?" Jack whispered, staring at the floor. "What'd I do wrong to her?"

Zach cocked his head. "You didn't do anything wrong. If anything, I think she was a bitch! Clary was the one who cheated!"

"But still...maybe she cheated because I wasn't enough."

"Ha ha. Yeah right. Jack...you did everything for her. Answered all her calls, took time out of your day for her, you even cancelled plans with other people for her!" Zach sighed. "You were a good boyfriend. Was she ever there with you? She cancelled dates for other people. She wasn't a good girlfriend."

"But... Maybe I should've done-"

"Shut up."

"But-"

"No."

"I-"

"Shh!" Zach stood up and pulled Jack up. "Now come on! Now that your girlfriend isn't here to spoil our plans...how about we go out?"

"A date?" Jack joked, smiling slightly. Zach blushed but smiled. "Sure."

The two of them walked out of Jack's room, both with a small smile on their faces.

"So, where shall we go?" Jack asked, raising an eyebrow what they were buckled up in the rental car.

"Wherever you wanna go."

"'cause that makes things easier. Right. Yeah. mhm. How about we go get hot chocolate?"

"That'd be nice! I heard there's a really cool skating ring, how about it?"

"I can't ice skate..." Jack mumbled.

"S'alright. I'll teach you!" Zach smiled. Jack nodded and shoved the keys into the ignition.

Zach reached for his phone about to hook it up with the car when Jack slapped his hand away.

"Driver picks!"

"That is...not fair."

"Is to!"

"I never get to pick. I'm always either sitting in the back or in the passenger seat!"

"That's because no one trusts you to drive!" The two of them bickered for the rest of the car ride and before they knew it, they had made it to 'Jessie's Skating Rink,'

"That name is...creative." Zach mumbled. Jack snickered. He felt better already! Who knew hanging out with Zach Could Completely Change a Crummy day? Jack smiled and grabbed Zach's arm, dragging him to the store.

After getting their skates both boys walked (well, Zach jogged) over to the rink.

"Ugh...It's so hard to walk!" Jack complained, as he stood up, wearing the skates.

"It's not that hard, here, hold my hand." Zach rolled his eyes, outstretching his arm. Jack took his hand and followed behind Zach. He suddenly yelped when he fell forward right onto Zach.

"Ow!! Jack! Get off of me!"

"sOrry!" Jack answered, standing up, quickly grabbing the glass. Zach rolled his eyes again and stood up, following Jack.

"I'm scared to skate with you," He mumbled.

"Well sorry!" Jack answered. Zach grabbed the older and pulled him onto the rink, holding his hand.

"It's not that hard, Jack!"

Zach began skating faster, keeping his finger intertwined with Jack's.

"Too fast!" Jack yelped. Zach laughed and slowed down slightly. "Try skating with me. Alone."

Zach let go of Jack and skated to the side with ease. "This is hard," Jack whined, moving forward slowly, stumbling slightly.

An hour later, Jack was skating properly alongside Zach. He still stumbled a bit, but hadn't fallen so far.

"You're getting better," Zach smiled.

"I might be better than you!" Jack smirked.

"Don't jinx yourself, I recommend you go touch some wood,"

"Haha, yeah right," The second the words left Jack's lips he stumbled and completely collapsed. Unfortunately for Zach, he fell right on top of Zach.

"Again?!" Zach whined. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, you cushioned my fall. But are you alright?"

"Just peachy, Avery."

"we should take a break...how about some hot chocolate?" Jack asked, climbing off of Zach.

"Sounds like a plan."

Jack smiled and helped Zach up. They skated over to the main room and kicked off the skates, returning them.

"Hey, Zach,"

"yeah?" Zach smiled, pushing the door open.

"Thank you,"

"what for?"

"You made my shitty day better. Way better," Jack mumbled. Zach grinned and pushed the older softly.

"Dude, you're my...best friend. It's my job to make a shitty day better," Zach smiled, hesitating on the word 'best friend.'

"I thought that was a girlfriend's job?" Jack joked. Zach blushed, looking down.

"I am not a girlfriend! You are!"

"Haha, sub."

"Whatever. But dude, making a bad day better is anyone's job. Specifically someone who cares about you." Zach leaned close to Jack, pressing his shoulder against the olders.

"Thanks, Someone who cares about me."
