"Jack..." Zach whispered, stepping into Jack and Zach's shared apartment flat.
"Yes?" Jack asked, looking up. He'd been scrolling through Instagram. Zach was nibbling on his lip and had a sheepish smile on his face. "Oh God, Zach. Zachary Dean Herron, what did you do?"
"Something stupid..."
"Zach... what did you do?"
"Don't get angry?" Zach pleaded, wincing.
Jack huffed. With the way Zach was looking at him, it was already hard to be pissed off. "Fine. I promise."
"Okay...so...uh...I was walking by this shady looking neighborhood. Because I was coming back from Daniel's house which was fun actually. We played a lot of COD. He was actually the first on I called after I did the stupid thing. He told me he'd help-"
"Honey, you're getting off topic." Jack interrupted, a small smile on his face.
"Right, sorry. Anyways! So I was walking through the shady neighborhood and there was this nice lady who was homeless and she had a huge box with some weird wiggly thingies in them. Me being the curious person I am, I went and checked it out. Turns out, she had a box full of cats. There were four girls and five boys. And she was giving them away for $500 dollars. Jack, they were all so cute! So I gave her $500 dollars and took the box and now we have nine kittens."
Jack stared at Zach. "Please tell me you're joking."
Zach laughed nervously. "Uh...no..."
"Oh my Lord, Herron! You need to give them away! We can't keep nine cats."
"Never! I'm keeping them. You can't make me!"
"Zach-"
"No. No compromises." Zach grabbed the box that was on the floor and carried it over to Jack. He held out the box to Jack. "Look me dead in the eye and tell me you don't want to keep them."
"I- Zach..." The kittens were adorable. They were all black along with specks of white and brown mixed into their fur. Jack practically melted.
"Okay, Zach. We can keep two."
"What about the other seven!?" Zach exclaimed, clutching the box to his chest. One of the kittens crawled out of the box and snuggled up against Zach. Jack cooed internally.
"Three. We'll keep three. I'm sure Jonah, Corbyn and Daniel wouldn't mind taking a cat or two."
"But-"
"You'll still get to see them! How many times do we visit those three a week? At least three times."
Zach pouted. "Why not all nine?"
"Because we can't afford that much cat food and litter and toys." Jack answered. "Logically, we'd end up in a financial crisis."
Zach frowned, finally thinking about it. He huffed. "Fine." Zach scooped up more kittens, still stroking the one that'd previously crawled into his lap. He smiled and cooed at the kittens.
"They're so cute!" He placed the cats on the floor and sat down on the floor, playing with them. Jack smiled. His boyfriend was an idiot. A huge one. But he was cute.
=====
Short and sweet. I love the idea of Zach impulsively adopting 9 kittens. Lmao. Sounds like something he'd do too! ANyways, I have found a schedule! I will only update on weekends. Because that's when I don't have school. I might update this Thursday because there's a PD day.
Sorry it's short though-
I didn't know what to add! ALSO IF I GOT NINE KITTENS ID KEEP ALL OF THEM BECAUSE HELL YAAHHHHHHHHH CATS ARE AWESOME. SO ARE DOGS. WHY ARE THERE ONLY DOG PEOPLE AND CAT PEOPLE? WHY NOT BOTH?!
