Akumu POV:

I kept shaking mom's arm until she opened her eye and saw the blood absolutely coating me and Akarui. After seeing that she basically moved at the speed of light and got us to a hospital. Once we got there it felt like pure chaos trying to get the right doctor until my brother and I were finally rolled into the ER on stretchers. I saw the world very differently while I was in that hospital, The shadows were much more visible and colors were fainter than normal. When the doctor unwrapped my shirt to look at my hand all of them looked at me like I was a deity. I looked back at them curiously. I lifted up my hand to see it and it was completely fine except for the dark scars of stitched going down my hand. I couldn't stop looking at the scars, they didn't hurt or anything, they were just darker than normal scars. I was curious why the scars were darker so I asked: "Mr. Doctor why are my scars darker than normal?" "What scars?" he asked sounding slightly confused. I showed him my hand but he said there was no scarring on my hand only a bruise on my neck. He said that my brother was just finishing up his stitches but I am good to go. When I got out to my mom she looked very relieved that I was okay. After the doctor carried out Akarui we left the hospital and went home. The sun was just starting to rise so there was a tiny bit of natural light; making the sky look very light gray with really faint pink and orange. As soon as we got into the car I completely fell asleep. My dream was really really weird, the world was completely black and white and I had pitch-black blades coming off or my arms. There was also a girl next to me; I think she looked pretty and she had a mask on with a stitched up mouth and button eyes.

When I woke up I was in my bed so I was really hoping it was all a dream but no, everything had happened in real life. I really hoped Mom hadn't found the blood on all the walls. I walked out of my room and found mom watching TV on the couch. She had Akarui asleep on her chest. "You need to get ready for school," she said in an even tone. "Okay Mama," I went back into my room and found my favorite Deku shirt to wear today. When I came back out to the living room mom looked terrified. Instead of overthinking about it I just walked over to her and asked: "What's wrong Mama?" She looked down at me and her expression completely changed. "Nothing Baby, Oh by the way Gramma is going to pick you up after school today," "Yay Gramma's house!" That was the last thing I ever said to my mom before I never saw her again. When I got to school all the teachers from my class told me how they felt sorry that my dad died or they asked if I wanted to talk about it. I didn't but I appreciated them asking. When we went outside to play I found Kaku and we played heroes and ran around helping imaginary people. when we were both super tired we decided to climb up a hill to lay in the sun.

When we got to the top Kaku askes me: "Hey, have you gotten your quirk yet?" I think really hard and decided I could tell him but not how I first used it. "Yes..." He looks at me with a huge smile "What is it!?" "I can create and control shadows," I replied rapidly losing confidence in this plan. "That. is. so. COOL! Can I see?" He asked starting to accidentally turn his hands themselves into explosives. "Your hands!" he looked down and absorbed it back into himself. "Now can I see?" "Sure I can try," I said trying to get anything to show. Come on please work, please; I started to feel a small shadow come out of my palm. it came out looking like a faint outline of a spike. something didn't feel right, I turned around and saw that my shadow was really dark. before I could investigate, Kaku ripped me out of my thoughts by saying: "Woah, it's like a little ghost," I turned back around to see that the spike gained some black and was now just hovering over my hand. "I wonder... Kaku can you get behind me for a second, I want to try something." Kaku walked behind me and I pointed my arm towards an old tree. then I acted like I was pushing something with my palm and the spike shot straight into the tree and stuck there. "Woah Aku that was awesome, can you do it again?" "Yeah do it again" I turned around at the new voice. When I turned around I saw the meanest kid I knew: Baki aka Baka as Kaku and I called him back then. Baka thought that he was the best in our class because he got his quirk right after birth so he had almost six years to get really good at it. His quirk was called razor it allowed him to turn his arms up to his elbow into highly honed blades for 10 minutes at the time. "Do it again you little prick," he said with a smirk on his face.
