Akumu POV:

"Are we going home now Gramma?"

"Yes, sweetie,"

"Am I in trouble?"

"Of course not,"

"Why were you and the principle yelling at each other?"

Grandma's eyes clouded over and I couldn't tell what she was really thinking about at that moment. She opened her mouth repeatedly without sound before finally saying: "Because they were frightened by your quirk and didn't understand you were helping your friend." I started to feel tears welling up in my eyes and just let them fall. "A-are you scared of me?" I asked as Grandma wiped my tears from my face. "I have no reason to be, you simply lost control trying to help," I looked up at Grandma confused. I knew I hadn't lost control that day, the only day that I lost control was when I was fighting Dad because I was running completely off of rage, revenge, and a little bit of blood lust. Grandma noticed my confusion and looked even more confused than I was. "You did lose control than didn't you?" I decided to simply ask if she knew about my dad. "Did Mama tell you about Dad?" She thought for a bit before looking directly at me and saying "Yes, she said that he died last night because he threatened your brother and you defended Aka," I look at her and can see her put everything together in her head. "Oh my goodness, you really didn't use very much power against those kids did you?" Grandma looks at me with a mix of awe and a slight bit of fear or maybe it was nervousness. I look her straight in the eyes and say "They didn't deserve what Daddy did," the awe in her eyes seems to only grow more.

We continued walking and after about 15 minutes we get to a bus stop. "What happened to your car?" I asked perplexed as to why we were taking the bus when Grandma and Grandpa lived so far from any of the bus stops. "Oh nothing, we are going into town since we need groceries and Grandpa is meeting us in town with the car." I couldn't wait for my sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa since they had a really big, old house with a giant yard. However, I wasn't aware for a good amount of time that the 'sleepover' would last a little more than ten years until I was old enough to go to a hero school like UA, Shiketsu, or Ketsubutsu. We got onto the bus and sat down.

After about 20 minutes of thinking about my shadow, and why it would be so dark, Grandma taps my arm and says that its time to get off the bus. I jump from the bus onto the curb and look up seeing a very bright and colorful building with the words 'Uravity's budget food mart'. I was really confused about why the number 12 hero was associated with a budget food mart but whatever it wasn't my biggest concern at the time. I was still really weirded out that my shadow was so dark compared to other people's. I ran hundreds of scenarios through my mind but none of them seemed right. Maybe it had something to do with my quirk? I'm still trying to solve this question when I hear Grandma yelling my name. "AKU! Geez, kid, you have been mumbling for five minutes," "Sorry Gramma," I replied. "It's fine we just need to get food right now," She said as we both walked into the building. I have to say the store was huge for a discount place, there were so many isles with even more items in each. Grandma handed me a list that said:

"Eggs, pork, chicken, rice, soy sauce, onigiri, apples, sugar, eel, salmon, crab, wasabi, and mango mochi ice cream."

"Alright, you take this basket and go get these things while I go get the stuff on my list," Grandma said before giving me a basket and walking off with her list and a basket.

Time skip

We walked out of the store with all the food we bought, put into bags for us. I followed Grandma around the building and through a bunch of streets. We passed by a construction site where there were a bunch of these really strong-looking guys in orange jackets that were holding a beam up while a different man seemed to be welding the beam to the metal bars that were already in place. "Wow, his quirk is kinda cool, I wonder what the max temperature is? what are his limits? how strong can the flame be?"

We kept walking past the construction with me still coming up with questions about the man's quirk. I continue to mutter about the capabilities of the man when Grandma put her hand on my shoulder. I come out of my thought process and see that her and Grandpa's car is right in front of us. Grandma takes the bags from me and I get into the car where Granpa was in the front seat.

"Hey kid,"

"Hi, Grandpa,"

"You ready to hang out for a bit with me and grandma?"

"Yep, this weekend is gonna be fun."

"Indeed it is. I hear your quirk manifested, is that true?"

"Yeah, but I can't really control it quite yet."

"That's fine, what is it?"

"I-It's I don't really know other than it uses shadows,"

"Oh my goodness we need to talk to a quirk doctor then,"

"Okay Grandpa,"
