Akumu POV:

"Well since you're okay, why are you here?"

"My grandparents live here, I'm staying with them"

"Oh cool, I didn't know they had grandkids. Well, my name is-"

"What is your quirk?!"

"Shouldn't I give you my name first?"

"No, because I directly remember quirks so I have to learn them first so the name will stick to the quirk,"

"Interesting, but okay, my quirk is called thorny net."

Deku's voice:

Thorny net: the user can create a tight bundle of thorny vines that when thrown expand into a net that entraps and shreds anyone and (almost) anything it touches.

"Cool, now I can learn your name,"

"Eris, my name is Eris"

"Cool, I'm Akumu, I don't know my quirk really,"

"Who named you?"

"My dad, why?"

"Well, your name means nightmare in Japanese,"

"Oh, yea my mom had a nightmare right before giving birth to me,"

"Okay, but that is still a slightly mean name,"

"I never took it that way,"

"You should probably go back to your grandparents,"

"Okay, bye Eris-senpai,"

I turned around and walked away heading back to the giant house only to trip on something. I pulled my face out of the dirt and see my hands had a bunch of new cuts. I look around to see what caused me to trip and see something really shiny sticking out of the ground. I walked over to it and as I got closer, the object only got brighter, and then as soon as I touched it all the light it had was gone. I had to wait for a second or two for my eyes to readjust to the lack of bright light. I looked back at the object and in my hand was a dagger. On it was really complicated kanji that I definitely couldn't read yet. I decided to ask Grandpa if he could read it and tell me but I didn't want to cut my self on the way back so I walked over to a cherry tree and pulled off around 25 leaves in order to cover the eight-inch blade. As soon as the blade touched the leaves they were immediately sliced as though there was never anything there. After that, I tried to wrap it in my clothes but that same thing happened. I eventually went through trying to cover it using branches, string, thicker leaves, and finally placed it in a piece of bark and stuffed it with flower and cherry petals.

As I walked back carrying the extremely awkward piece of wood, I saw something run through the bushes of the forest and stop behind a tree. 'What the hell was that!' I wondered dropping the piece of bark with the blade and began trying to sneak up to the tree it stopped at. getting closer to the tree, I began to get nervous as whatever it was continued to make a rustling noise sounding almost hurt. Hearing that whatever it was really did sound scared and hurt I decided to risk it and ran all that way over to the tree, not caring that I could very easily be getting myself killed. As I rounded the tree and looked for the animal I just saw the tree's shadow. Before I could try to activate my quirk to investigate further, I heard some light rustling behind me before feeling a small weight fall onto my back causing make to fall onto my face. Twisting around, I could just barely see what the weight was.

Sitting on top of my back was a 3D shadow, I couldn't really tell what the shadow belonged to but I could sense that it was definitely a shadow, which meant that I could try to control it. untwisting myself I laid on the ground and focused as much as I could into moving the shadow creature off my back so I could at least see it better. Focusing on the shadow I made a lighting motion with my hand and felt the weight be slightly lifted. I continued to try lifting the shadow and manage to lift it just enough to slide out from under the creature and get myself up against a tree right as my quirk deactivates dropping the creature which now appears to look similar to a slightly see-through, black wolf with piercing yellow eyes. I looked right at the creature and tried to talk to it. "I-I don't know what you want but is there something you need form me?" It seemed to shrink drastically down to the size of a small puppy as it walked up to me and while not making a sound audibly told me in my head that it was the shadow of my father that now has sworn to protect me since my father failed at that so horribly and since the shadow had no one to follow anymore. I agreed and asked the shadow if it had a name to which it said I can give it one. after going back to get the knife and head home with the shadow sitting on my shoulder I finally thought of a name to give the little creature. "I am going to give you the name Yoru," Yoru agreed to the name and we continued inside where I found my grandfather waiting for me at the dinner table as dinner was right about to be served.

"Hi, grandpa,"

"Hi, Aku,"

"I found something while playing,"

"And what would that be?" he asked not even looking up from the newspaper.

I took the knife out of the bark and leaves, showing it to him. His eyes immediately widened and I noticed that the blade began reacting weirdly to me holding it. "Aku, where did you find that?" he asked allowing a tiny amount of fear to drip into his voice. "I tripped over it when I was walking back from the quirk range," He looked at me and kindness flooded into his eyes. "I see, well I'm glad you found the range, however, I'm going to need you to put the knife down," he said his voice becoming very soft. I put the knife down and asked him about the writing on the blade. "Oh, let me see," He picked up the knife and read what was inscribed in the blade. after finishing he looked between me and the blade multiple times before saying "I will tell you what that blade says the day you become a hero course student,"
