An Ember

a spark is what starts everything.
the ignition of a flare.
it's beautiful, it's mystical.
the crackling of fire, beguiling.
but once it begins to consume,
it starts destroying.
ruinous.
chaotic.
a heat i can't handle.
a ravaging passion.
it keeps burning for you,
yearning for you.
it feels impossible to stop.
but i know it will.
one day, it won't burn for you anymore.
fire becomes less intense.
it becomes no more than a spark.
no more than an ember.
