Collin had found her later that night. Covered in her own rich blood. Dress ripped and torn. He carried her back to his house for his mother to tend to her wounds.
He prayed as his mother did treat her. Laying her on the one old mattress that lay in the home. Stitching her up where the boy had cut to deep. Past the skin, skimming an organ. A vein.
Please live. Luna you have to live. You promised you would come to the village. You are here, live. He thought as he paced back and forth in their small house. Repeating it over and over again. Whispering it against his lips. Rubbing his temples at the slight thought of losing her.
"Collin! Stop pacing please! I'm trying to heal her!" His mother screamed at him. Starting a stitch on her stomach.
"Mother? Let me use magic on her please," He started to beg. He knew something that could heal her. The one magic he knew, was a healers magic. "It might help." He ended, standing over her shoulder, looking down at the broken girl before them. Hair tangled due to the wind. Dress torn from trees and the dagger. Eyes closed with possible death.
She sighed. "If you think it will, go. You have begged me enough." She stood up, wiping her now bloody hands on her apron.
"Thank you." He kneeled on the floor next to the girl. Slowing his breathing. Closing his eyes, just to not be reminded of the pain she must have felt. He whispered a healers words to himself. "Heal the broken heart, fill it with the health of a thousand men. Bring it back from the dead." He chanted, over and over.
A breath escaped her and she sat up. Eyes opening to see the world around her. Heart at last picking up its beat.
Collin stood up and hugged her. "It worked. It worked. You're not dead!" He breathed against her hair, kissing the top of her head.
"Collin? Collin. . .di- did I die?" She asked him in the slightest. A slight tear escaping her. For she had ran, and scrapped deaths cold grip.
"Yeah, when I found you, you were turning colder and colder. I knew the healers words and healed you." He replied, hugging her small frame tighter then before. She winced as he lightly hit her stomachs new stitches.
"You have to send a message to the palace. Gavin and Desire will be worried." She pulled away, feeling sleep starting to cradle her damaged body once again.
"As soon as I can Luny." He said watching her lay back down on the dirty bed. Nothing like the palace. But this is your home Luny. He thought.
"Thanks. For everything." Her eyes closed as she spoke. He laid beside her. Happy to see her alive.
"Anything for you Luny. I'm here for you. Always."' They slept with a darkened, dreamless sleep.
