The curls dropped from her hair ever so soflty as they prepared her. Pulling her corset tightly around her already small waist. Dressing her in a long flowing indigo dress. Causing her eyes to pop against her skin.
"Dear you look absolutely beautiful! The prince is sure to fall for you, first look he gets of you." Her assistant, Desire said as she let Lunas hair fall. Desire was in charge of dressing Luna for days like this. For today she would be meeting Gavin Muir. The suitor.
This would be the first time they had ever meet one another. This day was crucial. The both had to look their finest. Dressed in jewels and fine fabric.
"Thank you Desire. We can hope for the best." Luna replied hanging her head low and playing with a lose curl.
"He'll love you. I swear it. Now come lets go." She said with a smile on her face, taking Lunas arm and walking out of the room. Where the Royal Guards would follow until they made it safely to the parlor.
As they walked along the halls Luna had millions of thing running through her mind. I wonder what he looks like? Or if he's nice. Maybe he'll be like Collin. She thought with a small smile growing on her face. If the boy was like Collin, she would be pleased.
"Your Highness, we have arrived." One taller guard told her as he lightly pushed the small of her back. Causing her to stumble a bit as she walked in.
"Remember smile, speak politely, and try not to be yourself." Desire whispered in her ear as she walked into the parlor.
Sunlight poured from the window, taunting her. Don't be youself. You hate the outside and the villagers. She said as she smiled, knowing what she told herself was lie. She loved the outdoors, yet she was locked in here. She loved the village, that was still her home.
"Princess, pleasure to meet you." The boy said, voice deeper then she had expected. "I'm Gavin Muir." He spoke as he took her hand and lighlty kissed it.
"Luna Durgrell, the pleasures all mine." She said as sweetly as her voice would allow her. She looked him in the eye.
A haunting gray stared back her. She stepped back and examinded the boy beforer her. He was taller then her. By a few inches. His hair was a sandy blonde, pulled back into a ponytail behind him. She didn't care what he was wearing. This boy was beautiful. More beautiful then her.
He hates me. She thought to herself. Truth was he thought the same of her. She was stunning. He did not hate her at all.
"Please sit. If you are to be my wife in a few years, we must get to know each other." He said and sat on the velvet seat behind him.
Luna froze at the word wife. She had nearly forgot, this was to be her husband. So she sat on the seat oppisite of him. Staring at him blankly.
"So, Luna, what do you like to do?" He asked taking a sip of the jasmine tea that lay before them.
Just lie. "Reading is something I enjoy. The libary here is so vast, I'll never be able to finish all of them in my life." She said with a slight giggle. "And combat. It's quite fun. I can take out a Royal Gaurd quite quickly." She let it slip. Well, just don't say your from the village. She thought.
"Really?" He sat up in the seat. "I can't even take one of the guards out." He said laughing along with her.
"It did take time to learn, I never thought I'd exceed them." She said though her stomach was hurting between each joyful laugh. It pushed against the corset, causing her a little pain.
"What's your favorite weapon?" He asked her. Starting to move to sit next her.
Keep it up Luna, you got his attention. "A dagger. Small enough to set in my boot." She said. Smile wide and truthful.
"Daggers are great. But swords are better." He said smiling and looking at her.
"To you." She was happy this was going well. She would have to tell Collin how well this went.
She took a drink of the tea. Enjoying this day. This moment of the day. She had never felt so happy within these walls.
They talked for hours. Talking about their skills, about how they liked to spend their time in the palace. About how they hated it. "It's horrid here is it not? They lock us up." Luna said. By now they had both relaxed. Laying on their backs on the twin coaches that were in the parlor.
"Yes! I hate it! These window.."
"They taunt me." They said in unison. Laughing away at what they said. Her corset was pushing against her again. Harder then last time. Hurting her more then before. She winced in the sudden pain.
Gavin quit laughing. "Are you alright Luna?" He asked sitting up and walking to her.
"This stupid corset. It kills me I swear." She replied sitting up. "I think we should go about our ways." She said calling for Desire.
"Oh alright." He said voice full of disappoint. He was also enjoying this day. "There is a ball coming up. I'll see you then." He said as Desire came into the room.
He kissed her hand again. "Good day Princess." He smiled.
She walked out of the room. Pulling off her jewels and running past her room.
"Princess? Where are you going!?" Desire called after her. Trying to catch up with Luna.
"To Collin. I have to tell him how well this all went!" She called, running past the guards and to the village of Alkiery. Back to Collin.
