"Let's go see Lexy"

Woods couldn't believe what he had just heard. He was in shock.

"Are they okay?"

"I'm not sure! I'm waiting outside for them to get the girls out. I don't know their conditions yet. I'm so scared Woods!"

"I am too Nat. Do you need me to come over?"

"No. It would be best if you didn't. I don't want to many people in the way. But if you could come to the hospital later after work that'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive Woods! Oh they have the girls!! I need to go!!!"

"Woods? Can you fill me in please? What's going on dude?"

"Oh gosh sorry Pat! Yeah uh, Nat please keep me posted!"

"I will! Bye!!"

Woods hung up the phone. "Sorry Pat! That fire we saw, it's Coffee Express. It's burning and Lexy and Jennifer are inside." Pat looked just as shocked as Woods and was freaking out. "What!!! No, no, no, no! Is there anything we can do?!" he asked. Woods shook his head. "No. Nat said to stay away but we can go to the hospital after work." "After work?! That's not for hours! Why not now?" Pat exclaimed with worry in his voice. "We would just be in the way. I want to go just as bad as you do but it wouldn't be wise. Why don't we go back to the studio and let everyone know. I'm not very hungry anymore." Woods said. Patrick nodded, "I'm not hungry either." Woods backed up and headed back to the studio. They both were quiet as they were lost in their thoughts. When they pulled up to Orange base Connor and Sam were walking out. Sam waved at them but Connor looked confused. "I thought you guys were getting lunch. You're back way to early to be getting food and coffee." They noticed that Woods and Pat didn't look so good. "Hey, what's wrong guys? You look about ready to cry." Sam said with concern. Woods took a deep breath. "I'll tell you in a minute. I'm going to send out a Vox message to everyone to meet in Blue base." Sam and Connor looked af each other with major worry and concern. "Okay, we'll go ahead and head that way now. We'll tell anyone we see to head over too." Connor said. "Thanks guys." Woods said. He pulled out his phone and sent a message asking everyone to head over to Blue base. As he and Pat were heading over Woods realized that Pat was trying to hold back tears. He wished he could comfort him but he knew if he did right then he would break down too. He was just so worried about Lexy. He knew Pat was too but for him it was different. Getting to know Lexy these past few weeks he had begun to realize just what she meant to him, that she was special and that he had feelings for her. He looked up and saw that they had reached Blue base and pretty much everyone was already inside.

Woods' POV

I walked inside and everyone looked at me and Pat
"Hey man, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" Matt asked. He looked really worried. I took a deep breath. "Now I know many of you haven't met her personally but I got call about Lexy." Worried looks crossed the faces of everyone that knew her. "Nat called me about 15 minutes ago. The fire that we can see, is from Coffee Express. Lexy and her friend Jennifer were in the building and are on the way to the hospital. I don't know anymore details yet but I thought you would want to know before it's on the news." Sam and Catherine looked about ready to cry, while the guys were all shocked. Those who didn't know her personally went to give comfort to their friends. Patrick at this point was crying. Tanner went to give him a hug. Matt walked up to me, "Thanks for telling me. Is there anything else Nat told you?" I nodded, "She said we could go to the hospital after work. I don't know how I'm going to make it that long though. It's going to be a long few hours!" Matt patted me on the shoulder. "I understand. I'm going to have you guys take it easy for the rest if the day and just find something to do to distract you. I'm going to go call Amanda and let her know if she doesn't already. You tell the others what I told you." He went upstairs to his office to call Amanda. I cleared my throat and got everyone's attention. "Matt said to take it easy for the rest of the afternoon and to do what we can to distract us until we're off the clock." Everyone started to disperse except for the group of us who know Lexy. We all pretty much sat and talked about anything. We tried playing some games but no one was really in the mood. The hours ticked away. Nat hadn't called me yet. My worry was only getting worse. I stood up and walked outside. I pulled out my phone and saw that it was only 4:15. Then Natalie's picture popped up on my screen. I answered the call.

"Nat!! Is everything okay?"

"So far yes."

"Hang on, I'm gonna go inside and put you on speaker so the others can listen too."

"Okay."

I walked inside and to the back of the building. Matt had come down from his office and everyone had cheered up a little bit. "Guys, Nat's on the phone. I have her on speaker so you can hear what she has to say." Everyone eagerly listened.

"Okay Nat, we're ready. What's the news?"

"I have good news and bad news. Lexy is fine, she just has a mild concussion which is a surprise to the doctors and myself. She is on oxygen since as well. Jen wasn't so lucky. She is bruised and has some scrapes and is on oxygen too. She has a bad concussion and is still unconscious. That's as far as I know on her condition."

"Do you know how the fire started?"

"As a matter if fact I do. I don't have every single detail but I know enough. We are waiting for Lexy to wake up and be awake enough to give more details but Luetinent Myers told me what he knows. Gasoline and dynamite were involved and we know who is responsible."

"Who?" We all asked.

"It was none other than Kent Brown. He was arrested and is in custody. Luetinent Myers told me he hasn't said a word but he is definitely going to prison for a very long time!"

We all were a little shocked by what we heard. Pat came up to my phone, "When can we come see her Nat?" he asked.

"Some of you can come tonight but not many. We don't want to overwhelm her if she wakes up when you come. And I don't think the doctors would appreciate a bunch of people coming in all at once."

"Okay. Thanks Nat."

"You're welcome Pat. I'm going to let you guys go, I'm going to go home and pack a small bag to stay with Lex tonight. I'll see y'all later."

"Bye Nat."

I hung up the phone. Everyone seemed to look better with the good news. "Since there's only 30 minutes left until 5 why don't you guys clean up and get your stuff together and then head home." Matt said. We all started heading to our offices to clean up our stuff. "Hey Woods." I looked up and saw Matt and Patrick in the doorway. "Yeah?" I asked. "Could I go with you to see Lexy?" Patrick asked. I gave him a small smile. He and Lexy were the best of buds since the bbq at Matt's. I nodded, "Sure buddy." He gave me a sad smile. "Thanks man." He walked out the door and headed to Orange base. I looked at Matt, "Did you need anything?" I asked. "Not really. I just wanted to see how you were doing." I shrugged. "I'm fine." He gave me a look that said 'I'm not convinced'. I sighed, "I'm better then earlier that's for sure. I don't really know Matt. I'm so worried and these last few hours have been torture for me." He nodded with understanding. "You care about her don't you." He said calmly. "Well yeah, she's my friend!" He chuckled softly. "That's not what I meant." He said a little more seriously. I looked away. "Yeah. I'm not sure what to do though." I said. "I understand. I need to head home now but whenever you need to talk about it, don't hesitate to find me. I'd love to help you out in any way I can." He said. I gave him a small smile, "Thanks man." He headed out the door and I grabbed my stuff and went to go find Pat. I walked over to Orange base. "Hey Pat, you ready to go?" I asked him. "Yeah. I was just telling Gunner that I was going with you." "Okay, come on, let's go see Lexy." I said. I hoped I sounded encouraging to him. I wanted to boost his spirits a little more. "Yeah, let's go see Lexy!" He said.
