Nova's POV: Immediately when we locked eyes. His beautiful chocolate brown eyes. I quickly looked away, I felt like I was going to cry, all my emotions are flooding back. But I just held back my tears and continued to the living room where everyone was.
"Hey Nova, its been a long time" his mom said all happy. She walked up to me to come give me a big hug. Of course I hugged back, her hugs are the best, well except for his but I don't want to think about that right now.
We pulled away from the hug and I just smiled at her, honestly I did miss her it's just him I wasn't very fond of. She then turned around to face the couches and said, "Payton come over and say hi" she motioned her hands towards us.
he slowly got up. He knew what he did and probably didn't want to see me either, but nothing we can do now. He slowly walked up to me so we were facing each other. "We will give you guys some time to catch up" my mom said, she didn't know what happened between me and payton neither does his mom, they think that they just had to move and separate us.
You see me and Payton used to be best friends ever since I was born, I was a few months younger than Payton. We always loved hanging out and were always there for each other when we need each other. Our moms were always cool with us hanging out or having sleepovers, because they were best friends to. It was all like living a fantasy life, until it all happened. Then they ended up moving away.
"Hey" Payton whispered. "Hi" I said as my voice cracked. "Wanna go for a walk and talk?" He asked sorta shyly. "Not really" I said looking down and playing with my fingers. "Oh, okay" he said awkwardly.
I just walked away back upstairs into my room. I texted Harper and told her I need to talk. So she said to meet her a that park. I went downstairs and told my mom I was going to see Harper "why don't you bring Payton, he hasn't seen her in a while" I look and saw Payton's eyes light up. "Um no Harper has some personal stuff she wants to talk about" I explained.
"oh okay" I turned and saw a glimpse of payton, he looked sad, I felt kinda bad. No, he should feel bad, he should feel as bad as I did after he did what he did to me. I just walked out the door and ignored him.
Skip to the park When I got there I saw Harper siting on the swings, so I went up to her. I don't know what I looked like but apparently not very good because when Harper saw me she got a worried look on her face.
"Omg Nova what happened" she asked worried as she hugged me. "H-he's h-here" I said starting to break down. "Who's here" Harper asked leading us to a bench to sit. "Payton" I said in a soft whisper as my voice cracked.
"WHAT!" Harped shouted in complete shock. "Shhhh" I said. Harper is the only other person that knows about what happend besides Payton and I. "When my mom told me to come inside earlier the news was that some guest are coming I just didn't know who until they came" I said sobbing.
"Aw shhh it's ok Nova" Harper said as she hugged me. "I don't want him here, I was finally starting to be myself again." I said so sobbing. "I know" Harper said in a whisper. "I hate him" I said starting to cry even more.
Payton's POV: I felt bad for what I did. I didn't even really Realize what I was doing, okay well that was a lie I did know what I was doing but I didn't mean to hurt her that bad. When she came downstairs and we locked eyes for a few seconds I saw the pain and hurt in her eyes.
It made me feel even worse for what I did. I'm hoping I can make it up to her these next few weeks I'm staying here. I really needed to, I miss her, I miss her laugh and smile, I miss our late night sneak outs, our movie marathons, I just miss everything.
She would always covered for me if I was out with a girl, even though at the time I didn't know I was hurting her. She was there for any breakup I had. When I got cheated on she was there, she comforted me and didn't leave my side for literally a week because of it.
I just miss her. She always helped me if there was any bully's. I'm such an idiot.
I was deep in my thoughts when Nova's mom called me. "Payton?" I snapped out of my thoughts. "Yes?" I replied. " we only have one spare room and that will be for your mother so your going to be sharing a room with Nova" I don't think Nova's going to be very happy about that.
"Um actually I think I'm alright just sleeping on the couch" I said trying to avoid staying in Nova's room. "No I insist, your our guest you can't be sleeping in the couch" she said. "No really it's fine I've slept on couches before, there actually pretty comfortable" I said. "nope there is no way I'm letting you sleep on the couch" her mom said again.
I was about to say something else so I wouldn't have to stay in Nova's room but then I saw my mom glaring at me giving me the, just stay in her room and stop arguing look. "Okay" I sighed.
I took all my stuff that I left near the front door and headed upstairs to Nova's room. I remembered what room was Nova's from all the times we would hang out. I walked in and immediately had a whole bunch memories come back.
It looked exactly the same. Classic. I started tearing up remembering all the great times we had. I stated to walk around seeing all of her things, I saw her shelves with pictures. I was looking at them at the bottom I saw a picture that was turned face down. I flipped it over and felt sadness come over me.

I didn't realize I was crying until I saw tears dropping onto the picture. I put I back but left it standing up so you could see it. I walked away and and sat on the bed with my head in my hands thinking about how I'm going to make it up to Nova, I really wanther back in my life.
