Chapter 8

Ashley's POV

"Come on, you've got to do it"I said taking off my apron biting my lip as pain shot up my side. Oh fuck you Chris. I've got to care for this side or else I'm going to be seeing hell soon.

"No"Eric argued.

"Ok we'll do it"max told me. I smiled, they've got to help me on this cause I can't really do it alone.

"No, no you can't speak for me and me says no"Eric still said. Max wrapped his arm around him and ruffled his hair knowing how much Eric hates it. Eric squealed and struggled to get out of max's hold.

"Let me go"Eric yelled. Max smiled still ruffling his hair.

"Ok.... "Max said.

"Thank you"Eric said. Max smiled and looked at me.

"If you agree to help Ash"he said. Eric groaned loudly.

"Fine"he said and max let go of him. He ran to one of the pots hanged up in the kitchen using the bottom of the pot as a mirror and quickly fixing his hair.

Max and I laughed at him as max's phone dinged. He looked at it and looked at me worriedly.

"Hoss, we've got to go"he said giving me a knowing look meaning something is wrong at the base. Oh no this is not good. What the hell could be happening that they couldn't take care of and had to call us.

"What's going on? "I asked once we entered our under ground secret base.

"Well if you've been here it wouldn't have gone wrong"zombie said folding his tattooed arm. He's still an overbearing bastard I see.

"Well I'm here now so tell me what's wrong"I said smiling at zombie and he scowled at me. He gets under everyone's skin but I don't let him get under mine and it annoys the shit out of him.

"Well I located a rouge on our territory"Brainy said. He's our tech guy and his name us actually mark but we named him brainiac shortened to brainy.

"We've dealt with rouges before and it wasn't bad"I said and it was true. Rouges are very easy to catch cause they're not in part of any group and you could put a bullet in their head without questioning.

"Yes, but this is not just any rouge, its the secretary of the Scorpions and he brought people down with him. With my calculation, they are about twenty in number and you do know how vicious that secretary is"Brainy said and he isn't wrong. The secretary is a monster, that's why they recruited him in the first place. He could kill anyone at the spot even his own men that's how vicious he is.

"So what do we do now Brainy"I asked. Brainy turned back to his computer typing.

"Well, if I'm not mistaken they're having a gala tonight, if I may point out on our grounds, and if you ask me its one big mouse trap. He wants you come"Brainy said, looking at us.

"Then we don't get in the mouse trap. Max, zombie, you're coming with me they've never seen us and meanwhile Brainy, fabricate us an invite"I said. I walked towards the wardrobe that had all the clothes we may need for a mission.

"Kat we're going out ,its formal and I want to blend in including the rich makeup"I told her as she set hr working space.

"Hoss you can't go out you have an injury"max whispered to me. I turned and smiled at him.
