Chapter 20

A/N:Hey guys it's me again, that's Ashley's mom up there. Let's get to the chapter.

Ashley's POV

I looked over to my mates as they went through the test. I'm in the corner practicing my valdez. I listened as they screamed and saw as some were brought out dead and discarded.

"Hey little bitch what are you doing? "One of the big kids asked. I looked up at the scrawny looking kid and instantly remembered him.
Mike Bilsky, punished by starvation in a room with poisonous snakes for two weeks. I wonder how he's still alive. He received the punishment for answering the commander wrongly.

"Training"I said. He was released yesterday but he still took the test.

"Aren't you supposed to be taking the test not training how to stretch"he said. I swallowed and fell back down failing at my attempt to do the valdez again.

"Its called contortion, I'm a contortionist and yes I've taken the test"I said and flinched as I remembered shaking for a whole hour.

"Hey mike let the little bitch be"one of his friend said. Jordan Hanna was his name. I knew all of them but non of them knew me. Mike scoffed and walked off with his trembling friend.

I watched as another person was thrown into the water, the pool at the backyard just behind our class. I watched as they electrocuted the water making a water filled scream escape from the girl. The electric machine was twitched to give unbelievable amount of pain but not to kill but still some still die. I wonder how the rest of us survived, maybe because we are just a mile away of becoming full fledged monsters. They are looking forward to breaking us at the academy and they're doing a great job. I saw as they pulled the shaking girl out of the water pushing her away and dumping the next person into the water. I closed my eyes and rubbed my forehead. My dad has still refused to tell me and I don't know why. I've been doing everything he asked but he never considers it. I didn't choose this life, I hate it but its too late and too stupid to cry over it, moreover if I should cry now who knows what the commander would do, god knows I don't want to get back in that water.

"Commander "I heard. I opened my eyes and saw that the girl they pulled out was back in and they're shocking her more than usual.

"Pull her out"he said. They stopped shocking her and pulled her out. The girl looked lifeless and her body had little cuts all over. I'm sure she disobeyed the commander. We are taught that commands are meant to be followed without question. They wanted us broken to the point of not been able to be fixed anymore, they wanted us to be heartless and follow commands without complain or question and they won't stop till they reach that goal.

"Make sure she lives"the commander said as they dragged the girl away and another person was thrown into the water. We didn't ask for this. I blinked rapidly and took a deep breath. I'm supposed to be learning my contortion so I can get into small places when needed and so I could fight better. I straightened the yoga mat they were so generous to give me and sat down with my left knee up. I took a deep breath and shook my head as I continued practicing my valdez.

"Hey do you think I can hang out with you after school today? "I heard Eric ask. I nodded my head and fell back into my thoughts. I could just threaten or kill him but that'll bring suspicion and we don't even know how much he knows about us yet. I figured out that he wanted to know about Diamond but how did he find out about the base and most importantly how did he hack the computer that no one has ever hacked. I groaned lowly and played with my pen. The teacher's not in class anyway. I have to plant a tracking device on him but how in the world would I do that. I need to figure out who he meets after school so I can find out who hacked us.

"Boss I've got max and zombie really close to your location "I flinched as I heard the loud voice break me away from my thoughts. I looked around the class to see that everyone was either asleep or talking.

"Dude scream in my ear again and you won't have a mouth to scream from"I said, my voice low.

"Um boss your mum is leaving town"Brainy said. I frowned under my hood and bit my lip.

"How do you know that? "I asked a little furious at Brainy.

"She had a small chip installed in her so I can see wherever she's going and she just crossed the town's border"he said. I sighed softly and put my head on my arms.

"Send someone after her but let her go keep a close eye on her, nothing and I mean absolutely nothing must happen to her"I said lowly and Brainy hummed. I looked at the wall clock resting on the wall at the side of the class.

"I'll be back Eric"I said standing up. I walked out the class thanking the stars that no one noticed me. I need this to work and I'll not hold back till it does. I walked passed the doors and sneaked pass the old security guy. I walked down the street a little quickly spotting max and zombie.

"You cool? "Max asked. I nodded and went into public bathroom to change. I changed into high waisted ripped jeans and a crop hoodie, my belly showing when I lift my hands. I dragged my hands through my hair and walked out, a small black bag on my back.

"Let's do this"I said. We walked towards the school as I heard the bell ring meaning the end of school. We passed the security guard easily, him being old he thought we were students who came back to get the stuff they forgot. I snickered as max and zombie walked away from me, moving to secluded corners so they could have my back on any attack. I pushed my hair back stylishly pressing the button on my earpiece.

"Plan is in motion Brainy, get your head out of the gutters now"I said quietly. I walked into the rowdy halls as students rushed out of classes eager to go home. I saw as some guys and girls stare at me. I knew everyone of them, each by their names and they were staring at me like a piece of fried chicken. Wait why did I say fried chicken? But who doesn't love fried chicken? I shake my head coming back to reality as I looked around clueless, like I haven't been here before.

"Hey pretty girl what are you doing here all by yourself "I heard as I took a deep breath promising myself not to hurt the guy. I turned around and smiled sweetly.

Well here goes nothing.
