"Welcome back home, babe," I cooed in Jack's ear, nibbling at his ear lobe, the soft skin slipping between my teeth. Jack squirmed in my arms and laughed. He moved against my body, and I moaned softly.
"I missed you, even though you visited every day," he chuckled. I planted my lips on his, and my hands slid into his back pockets and his fingers tangled in my hair. I grinded my body against his slowly, and a small fire ignited at the touch. Jack gently slid his tongue into my mouth, drawing swirls.
"That's enough, lovebirds." Joe walked into Jack's room and leaned against the doorframe, smirking.
"Oh, h-hi, Joe," Jack stuttered, pulling away quickly. I nodded at the older Barakat son, and he nodded back.
"There's a party tonight at my friend Seth's house," Joe stated. "Thought I'd take you and show you two some fun."
Jack cast me an excited glance. I squeezed his hand. He turned back, nodding spastically.
"Alright," said Joe. "The party's at seven. Do your parents mind, Alex?"
"Not at all." Truth was, after that night, my parents were more careful around me. They tried not to upset me, which gave me more freedom. My parents didn't mind all that much anymore, just for the sake of my happiness.
"Cool. We'll leave in an hour." Joe left, and Jack and I were alone again.
"A party?" he almost squealed. "I've never been to one."
"Neither have I," I said.
"Ah, the losers finally get to go to their first party." Jack smirked and I rolled my eyes. "Our hour of manliness is coming."
The one hour passed quickly. Jack and I had been watching TV until Joe called us down. Jack had limped down the stairs, still getting used to his boot. I winced with him, wishing that I could forget the accident, forget how close I was to losing him. But Jack had felt my gaze on him. He had turned around and had given me a soft smile, reassuring me. Now, we were in Joe's car, on our way to Seth's house. Joe's radio blared The Offspring today, but the car was otherwise silent with excitement. Jack clenched my hand, and my grip was equally as tight. Our first party. It was dumb to be excited for something as minuscule as that, but I was never that social or socially important, and I had a feeling that Jack wasn't either. This was a giant milestone for us, socially speaking. Not that I cared. But the idea of having fun, the possibilities of a party, all with Jack, that got my heart thumping. It was the new frontier.
"I'm excited," Jack whispered to me. "I dunno what to expect, but I can't wait!"
"I know, I know," I shot back in hushed tones.
"Y'all are such dorks," Joe called from the front seat. "A party is no big deal. Relax."
"Were you like this when you went to your first?" Jack asked. Joe laughed.
"Yeah, but I had a good reason," snickered Joe. "My friends and I were going to a sorority party."
Jack rolled his eyes. "Of course. You're the straightest guy I know."
"Thanks, I guess." Joe pulled into a driveway of a house. "We're here."
