The Eyes That Stop The World

The sun shone down and directly into Rias' eyes, causing her to stir in her sleep. She woke up and found herself in a strange place. A forest of some kind, the sky above her was bright, yet she could still see stars racing across despite it clearly being daylight.

Rias: "Where am I?"

???: "This is your mindscape, Rias."

Rias jumped and looked behind her to find Yggmalana gazing down at her.

Yggmalana: "This is your first experience with a mindscape, so I'm not surprised that you're confused."

Rias: "Where's Y/n?"

Yggmalana: "Both of you are still asleep. However you are able to see your mindscape. Y/n is likely conversing with mother within his own mindscape."

Rias: "Trinity... Alright then. Why have you brought me in here, Yggmalana?"

Yggmalana: "A few reasons. First of all is that now that you have accessed your mindscape, you will be able to enter another's mindscape if they invite you inside. Just be prepared, a mindscape is very different for each person. Yours is a bright forest in which your thoughts race across the sky as stars. I have seen within Y/n's mindscape as well thanks to my mother."

Rias: "What's it like?"

Yggmalana: "Scarred. The landscape is cracked and broken. Though it is also a forest. A blanket of snow covers the grass and his thoughts are also stars in the sky. Though recently a cabin has been made within it. Additions like that are due to a mixture of factors. It is quite literally his comfort zone against the oppressive cold outside of it."

Rias: "I see. The scars in the land are due to his past, right?"

Yggmalana: "Self-harm and attempted suicide have left their mark. The snow is due to the depression he once endured. However he has since moved past that life and is working to heal the land in his mindscape."

Rias smiled as she took a seat on a fallen log nearby.

Rias: "So what else did you want to talk about?"

Yggmalana: "Ah yes, the next part I wish to speak to you about is your bishop."

Rias: "I'm assuming you don't mean Asia."

Yggmalana: "Indeed. I mean Gasper. The Dhampir."

Rias: "You think my brother will allow me to free him?"

Yggmalana: "Should he not, I shall speak with him personally."

Rias: "I see... I do think it's unfair that he was sealed away. I internally curse my younger self for allowing my brother to talk me into doing that."

Yggmalana: "Indeed. As such, I think we should free him. Even if Sirzechs says no."

Rias: "... Yes, you're right."

Rias felt weak in her legs and looked down in a panic as her lower half was disappearing.

Rias: "What's going on!?"

Yggmalana: "You're waking up. It will feel strange for a few moments, but worry not, you'll be fine... probably."

Rias: "Wait, wha-"

Before Rias had a chance to finish her sentence, she found herself awake in the real world. She slowly sat up and looked down at the person laying next to her. Y/n was fast asleep, he was a heavy enough sleeper that a magnitude ten earthquake still probably couldn't wake him up.

However, she needed to talk to her brother. She could faintly hear talking from downstairs, so she carefully got out of bed before leaning over and kissing Y/n on the forehead.
