Enter Null Space

Mephiles Chaos Controls into Null Space.

"Fool! Only you can see and hear me. I have no use for you anymore. Time to die, Zero the Jackal!"

On Seaside island, the hedgehogs and Gadget, witness Infinite being engulfed by a dark fog.

"Jackals, brace yourselves!" they hear him command before he is completely swallowed by a void of blackness.

"That's not good," Sonic comments.

"It's a portal," Shadow realizes.

They pause, unsure what to do. Then suddenly, Silver boldly flies inside.

"I'm coming, Infinite!" he calls before disappearing into the abyss.

"Hmph, that's my boy," Shadow dotes, inspired to step closer to the darkness. He turns to Sonic and Amy. "What's the matter? You two scared of the dark?"

"Hardly!" Amy proclaims, conjures her hammer, then runs past Shadow into the portal.

"You guys sure this is a good idea?" Gadget asks.

Sonic fearlessly steps closer to the darkness.

"Positive," he confidently replies. "Don't let anyone else enter this portal. Find Tails. He'll come up with a way for us to communicate with you guys."

"Smart idea, Faker. Now let's go," Shadow says then hops into the void.

"You think you can handle that, Rookie?" Sonic asks Gadget.

"Ha, I'm sure of it!" Gadget responds.

They fist bump before Sonic speeds into the darkness.

Inside of Null Space, Pronto takes a good look at Roxium.

"Oh man, another jackal. You stuck in here too, or what?"

"Sonic?" Roxium replies at the sound of Sonic's voice coming out of Pronto, the Jackal.

Pronto jumps, spooked at the sound of Shadow's voice coming out of Roxium, the Jackal.

"Shadow?"

"What's going on? Why do we look like Zero's relatives? And where's my hammer?" Amy's voice asks from behind. The two boy jackals turn around to the sight of Jade the Jackal.

"Are we inside of Zero's mind?" they all hear Silver's voice come from behind Jade. Jade steps aside and reveals Fetch the Jackal.

"No," Roxium replies. "This is Null Space."

"Ah, okay, so this is the infamous Null Space," Pronto realizes, then somberly recollects... "we've been here once before, Shadow."

"You, or another version of you, Sonic? I know I've never been here before," Jade replies. "And seriously you guys, my hammer is gone!"

"Me and Shadow came here once, yeah," Pronto explains, "I don't know how I did it, but when we lost Silver, I Chaos Controlled us here."

"When Silver got killed in Eggman's lair?" asks Jade.

Roxium lowers his head.

"Yes."

Fetch puts his hand on Roxium's shoulder.

"No wonder this place is so sad. It's alright. I'm here now, but where's Zero?"

"Dunno," Pronto replies, "but we need to find him fast. I've got a feeling we're not alone."

"Mephiles is in here too," Roxium tells them.

"Whose Mephiles?" asks Jade.

The other three jackals are about to explain, when the space transforms into what seems like an endless terrain of spooky twists and turns. Pathways all seeming to lead somewhere yet nowhere.
