The boys all set off to do what they were told to do, no questions asked. They knew how important this was, they couldn't mess it up and if they did, well, they would die. They knew this, they carried on finding the things they were told to get. The small groups were worried about Jungkook being on his own, but they knew he was the one who had the most experience and would be fine on his as he knew his way around.
As they walked around, they could here the moans and groans of the dead catching up to them and on the outside of the mall walking around aimlessly. Cautiously, they went from store to store picking up different things they thought they'd need whilst still getting the things they were told to get.
Soon it was time for them all to meet back up together. It was quite eventless as they had only come in contact with a few stray zombies, but overall they were alone in the great mall. As they met back up, they saw the loads of things each other had gotten. They had bags and bags of different things. Jungkook had the most; he had two duffel bags filled to the brim with equipment and ammo they might need. He basically ransacked the entire store.
One they had all met up, the boys quickly discussed the best way of leaving the mall, deciding that they should look through everything back at their base. "We need to leave quickly and quietly to ensure none of the dead see us, I'd rather not have to fight off a load of zombies with all this stuff that we're carrying." Jungkook said, looking at the exit options around the group. Just as he was saying that, he spotted a fire exit in one of the stores. Smirking to himself, he picks up the bags and started walking towards the exit whilst the others were debating what to do. Once he reached the door, he turned back to the group chuckling noticing they hadn't realised he had left. He watched them for a moment until Jimin had noticed that he wasn't there. He looked around, quickly connecting eyes with Jungkook. "I think Jungkook has figured it out." Jimin said brightly with a small giggle. The group turned to where Jimin was looking, smiling softly at the younger waiting for them. "Alright, time to go, we've been here long enough." Jungkook said, smiling back at the older boys. Complying, the boys followed him, picking up their bags.
They made it out of the mall quick and easy and were now on their way back. They decided to try and ask questions to the younger to get to know him more. Or as much as he lets them.
They decided to go in age order and ask Jungkook each a question. Jin started off with the first question.
"How old are you Jungkook?" Curiosity laced in his voice.
He turned around briefly, looking at all the eyes on him. "I'm 17." He said quickly. There were gasps around the group as he was one of the youngest still left around. Jungkook only smirked at their shocked expressions.
"How did you survive so long on your own?" Yoongi was next.
"I've always been pretty adventurous but was also left alone for a lot of my life. I guess it was pretty easy as I was alone anyway. I took up fighting and going to the gym whenever I had time; that's why I'm pretty good at fighting off the zombies. I guess my shitty life prepared me for this new life." Jungkook rambled, feeling as though he could trust the group with his secrets. The group all processed the information, smiling softly to themselves as they realised Jungkook was slowly opening up to them.
"What did you like doing when you were younger?" Hoseok asked, hoping to stray away from the sad stories that he guessed Jungkook didn't feel too comfortable sharing more.
"Well, as I said, I enjoyed doing exercise including fighting and going to the gym, but I also enjoyed photography and drawing. I like to do calming things to take my mind off the stressful things in my life. I guess I found refuge in my drawings and pictures." He softly spoke to himself, smiling and remembering doing the things he enjoyed before the apocalypse started. The others looked fondly at the youngest, realising that he wasn't just the muscle pig they saw before them.
Soon they were home, however they had not all asked a question to Jungkook. "Can we carry on asking questions?" Jimin asked hopeful to Jungkook, using his puppy eyes to persuade the younger. Jungkook chuckled at his antics and agreed, sitting on the sofa.
"Do you have any siblings?" Namjoon asked.
"I did, but he died long ago, before the apocalypse. His name was Jeon Junghyun. He was the best older brother I could ask for. Sadly, he passed away when I was 14 due to cancer at 17. I loved him so much and when he passed away I was devastated, I pushed everyone away, no matter who they were. I guess I've never really got over the fact that he's gone." He had now unshed tears in his eyes, almost overflowing. He let one tear slip out and put on a big smile, hiding the sadness the boys had seen in his eyes.
"We are so sorry you've had to go through all of this. You shouldn't have had to but now you have us and we will not leave you ever." Jin smiled at Jungkook fondly, like how an older brother would. "We want to know everything about you, and we will wait as long as you need for that to happen. Just remember we are always here if you need to talk."
"We can keep the other questions for later, I think we're all tired and in need of a lot of sleep." Namjoon said, chuckling when the others let out a yawn when he said sleep.
"Thank you for everything you have done for me in the short amount of time I've known you. I hope we get even closer soon." Jungkook said with a small smile, waving as he left to sleep, the rest following soon after him, tired from all of the events that occurred.
