"I slammed the front door to Grimmauld Place behind me, taking off my long coat and hanging it up. I heard something clatter upstairs, followed by a series of bangs until footsteps reached the ground and starting walking loudly. It was no secret who it was, no one else really ever came here anyway.
The footsteps stomped down the stairs, most likely being loud on purpose. I sighed and pretended not to hear her coming down and made my way to the kitchen to put myself on a cup of tea. A shiver went down my spin when the door to the kitchen swung open only moments after I had entered.
"Sirius Orion Black, where in Merlin's name have you been?!" Ariel all but screeched at me. I quickly lifted my hands to my ears and tried to block out the horrible noise of a woman screeching as though she were in labour.
I felt something swatting at me. I opened my eyes to see a furious Ariel with a tea towel in her hands, muttering curse words towards me under her breath.
"Ariel! Calm down! I'm sorry, I went out to visit Regulus' grave! I thought you wouldn't mind," I said to her. The swatting ceased. She stood with wide eyes, just staring at me. She didn't blink. She didn't move. For Merlin's sake I don't think she was even breathing.
And then she really started screaming.
"You thought I wouldn't mind?! You thought I wouldn't care that you completely disappeared off the face of the earth in under an hour, no one else having any clue at all as to where you were or what you were doing?! You think I don't care about you that much that I wouldn't mind you disappearing for five bloody hours!
"Sirius Orion Black, I don't know whether I should hug you or kick you out. How could you be so bloody stupid?! Of course I would damn well care, you think I don't care about you? Well I do! Now get over yourself and your brother and maybe next time before you leave unexpectedly, at least please tell someone so I can somehow track you down."
And she apparated away.
The mystery really was Ariel. She seemed so bipolar, so ready to freak out at any breathing moment. And the worst think is, I don't even think I just viewed her at her worst. I think I just actually viewed her in one of her best moods recently actually. At least she was stating that she cared about me. At least she was actually bloody talking to me.
I heard a whistle blow, snapping me from my thoughts. I turned my attention back tot eh kettle that I had been boiling. Taking out a mug for myself, I poured the warm liquid into the cup. I added a tea bag and stirred it slowly before taking the tea bag back out and adding milk."
"We get it, Sirius. You made yourself some tea. Can we get on with the story please?" Fred asked, a bored expression on his face. I rolled my eyes. This is why I will never want kids. They're so... hard to entertain.
"We get it, Sirius. You made yourself some tea. Can we get on with the story please?" I mocked Fred. Fred sent me a glare as I smirked triumphantly. The other kids snickered at Fred. "No, we can not, Fred, because this is actually a very important part of the story. Now if you would shut up and listen."
"I opened a cupboard and reached for the sugar. The cupboard being tall, I couldn't see into the top part where I still oddly kept the sugar. My hands felt the small sugar bowl and grabbed for it. Trying to gently lift it to the table without dropping it was proving to be difficult.
Finally being able to go down off my tiptoes was a relief. And in that moment the sugar bowl fell from my hands.
To my horror the contents of the sugar spilled all over the ground and the glass sugar bowl cracked into three pieces. Cursing under my breath, I grabbed the broom from beside the fridge and swept up all the sugar and put it in the bin. I picked up the pieces of glass carefully using my hands and laid them on the counter next to the sink.
