"That's it for today, see you next Monday," our event teacher says. He picks up his bag and quickly leaves the auditorium.
I start packing my stuff. Someone nudges my arm. "You are okay Rosie? You seem a little out of it today" I turn around to see Ida looking at me with a curious look on her face.
"Yes, no worries. Thanks for asking though". She nods and walks out of the room sending me a small wave.
I wait a few minutes till every student is out of the room. On my way out I pick up my phone to see if Leo had sent me a text during class. I sight when I see he didn't, I open our last conversation.

Leo has been distant this weekend. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the excuses he came up with were nothing more than that. Excuses. I get where it is coming from, I guess. After what happened Wednesday, we didn't really talk about it. We just dodged each other for the rest of the week. When he wanted to talk, I pretended to be busy and when I wanted to talk, he pretended to be busy. We are in a phase were one wrong step can shatter everything. And that is exactly what I wanted to avoid when we started all of this. During lunch this afternoon he made a lot of conversation with Grey, but half of the time he ignored me.
He left early so I had a bit of time to talk about it with Grey. She told me that he called her Friday to talk about me. I learned that he disliked me bonding with Sam. He is even kind of jealous because it looks like I can easily talk to his roommate and not to him. He feels like I have more in common with Sam than with him. And to my surprise when I think about it there is a certain truth in that statement.
Sure, our personalities are very different but, in that difference, there are a lot of similarities. If that even makes sense. We both love movies we also have a lot of conversations about music. Where Leo knows me, I have the feeling that Sam understands me. With Leo, we've built a friendship based on school and schoolwork and after that, we built a relationship on top of that friendship. I sometimes wonder if we built a second floor on a building that wasn't solid enough for it in the first place. With Sam it is different. The connection we have comes from what we like outside of school, movies, music and even books sometimes. I constantly remind myself that those two boys aren't comparable and that I need to stop comparing them. But it is hard not to when I spend so much time with them.
I decide to text Leo because we need to get this wall between us out of the way.
You: We need to talk, can we talk? We need to fix things between us.
