"Stick with me!" a voice sounded above the line of students. John and Alexander hung about in the back, chattering the air. They all walked on the side walk, cars zooming past. They passed houses, and a few people. The high school was on a safe road, where no one seemed to walk, except a few lonely.. people. Trees covered their heads of shade, as the spring air was warm.
"So." Alexander spoke, his lips pursing to the side. John wore a red sweatshirt and ripped jeans. Like always. His hair was in a low pony tail, like Alexander's, like always. That curled at the end.
John looked at Alexander as he spoke.
Alexander wore a white shirt, with a jean jacket, and to finish it all, ripped jeans.
"You're gay?" he questioned, chuckling a bit as John narrowed his eyes at him.
"Yeah. Literally our whole group is." John added a little bounce to his walk.
"Really?" Alexander felt surprised, he had not known about this. Even though John obeyed to kissing Jefferson, he thought that was just because he commanded it. And even though John didn't want to, it seemed like he wouldn't mind as much.
"Yeah. Except Eliza and Angelica. See," he paused before speaking again. "Lafayette and Hercules just declared their love for each other last week." Alexander cut him off from the rest of the information.
"What?" his voice rose, some of his classmates looking behind their shoulders at him.
"Yep. Then there is Peggy, she has a crush on Reynolds. And Angelica likes Burr." this information stunned Alexander. 'Sheesh, I need to get into this group more.'
"What about you?" Alexander asked John, who gazed forward.
"I'm not sure who I like at the moment." silence. He then turned, with his pointer finger in the air. "And I do NOT, like Jefferson."
"Chill. I'm not one of those friends." Alexander chuckled softly, seeing John soften and return to normal. It was two fifteen. School ends at three. At the time, everyone was running back to school, as it had started to rain. The two men laughed as they made their way, trying to shield each other from the rain with their hands.
John slipped, they were still in the back of the line, so no one noticed. Alexander halted to a stop, holding his hand out with a worried face. John began to chuckle, scratching his head before grappling onto Alexander's hand. He pulled up his friend, keeping him steady as they continued to walk.
"I'll protect you." Alexander laughed, his hand covering John's head from rain. He could swear, that John's face had a little pink tint cross his cheeks as he looked away.
***"Alexander! My house, seven o'clock." Jefferson called, walking out the door while Alexander strolled about the opposite way he was headed. He waved slightly to signal that he got it. He still faced forwards, unknowing what Thomas did next. Alexander weaved through the crowd of juniors, passing lines of lockers. Then there they were. His real friends. Peggy, Angelica, Eliza, John, Lafayette, and Hercules. Eliza and Lafayette laughed together, while Hercules carried Peggy on his back. Angelica walked beside them, giggling at the others. John hung about next to his locker, looking like he had just closed it. Alexander hurried up to them, sticking his hand up in the air in greeting with a smile.
"Alexander!" John flew himself into him, his arms wrapping around his neck. Alexander blinked in surprise, almost falling over. In response, he just lightly patted his friend on the back. Once John pulled apart, he rubbed his arm like he knew he shouldn't have done that.
"Sorry, I don't know what came over me."
"John, it's fine. We're friends, it's normal." Alexander smiled warmly at him, placing a hand on John's shoulder. His frown formed into a strong smile. Eliza blinked blankly before jumping happily.
"I've got something to tell you guys!" she skipped towards the exiting doors that led to the field. They usually hung out there everyday after school, no one else really goes there except a girl on Tuesdays. Hercules tensed his muscles as he began to walk towards the door with Peggy still on his back. They all followed. The sun piled out on them as they walked into the light. A light rocky path led to a large soccer field, with those metal rows of seats next to each long end. The friends' walked towards the closest one, climbing up to the top to enjoy the nice breeze that flowed. Lafayette sat next to Hercules, his head resting above his shoulder. Hercules took out a notebook, marked 'Hercules' Drawings.' As he passed through pages, Alexander caught glimpses of hundreds of clothing drawn.
Alexander smiled slightly before sitting down between John and Angelica. Angelica sat next to Eliza, whom sat next to Peggy, whom sat next to Lafayette, whom sat by, you already know. The breeze tugged at his hair, calming him.
"You all know James." Eliza voiced, her hands wrapping around each other nervously. "James Madison." everyone nodded.
"I may or may not have had a confrontation with him then suddenly fell in love with him." her voice moved quick between words.
"Why have you all told me that Jefferson's group isn't people you should mess with, but for some reason mostly every single one of you like someone in the group?" Everyone gave Alexander a stupid glance before shrieking.
"What happened?" Peggy asked, jumping every now and then excitedly.~What Happened~ :3
James rolled his eyes, dismissing a certain someone. He trained his eyes to focus what was ahead of him. His feet marked the floor as he stopped, feeling his cheeks grow warm. He couldn't help it, but a smile fastened his face. Elizabeth Schuyler stood in front of his eyes, her sisters' walking away from her. She said something to them. The beautiful teenager turned, leaning over and pulling her hair back, as she pressed the button for the water fountain.
James had always had a small thing for the girl, ever since they were little. Her beauty grew every time he saw her. Not that beauty is why he fell for the girl.
He cleared his throat, wiping his shirt before approaching her. Her head pulled away from the water, her lips shining as the water dripped. Eliza used her hand to wipe it off, letting her hair drop. As soon as she heard the faint squeak of shoes, her eyes gazed at him in fear.
"I-"
"Relax." James chuckled. He felt a light sadness punch him, to think that she was afraid of him. "I'm not that bad." he took one step closer. She tensed, but didn't move. She wore a beautiful dark blue dress with several white tiny dots throughout it. Her hair was set straight.
James wore a navy blue shirt with ripped jeans. His hair nice and curly as always.
"Did I do something?" she questioned, her eyes surveying her surroundings.
"No, no, not at all." James frowned. "I'm sorry you think that I'd do that to you." Eliza's brown eyes narrowed, like she was curious.
"You literally punch anyone for just running into you!" her voice toned into a harsh anger. "Of course I'd think that you'd be no different for me." her dress twirled as she whipped around, her legs setting off into an opposite direction of where he stood.
"Wait! Eliza!" she continued to walk, before suddenly stopping, her eyes peering over her shoulder.
"I'm sorry."
"You should be, f-for-for, being selfish!" she whirled back around. Her hands clutched into fists. James didn't move.
"You hurt so many people who're just trying to live their best life." Eliza's arms folded, clearly, this conversation wasn't going well.
"It's Jefferson-"
"No, it's you. You could stand up for all those innocent people you hurt, including yourself."
"Eliza." James sighed, leaning over to grab her hand. She winced, but let it happen. "I don't want to be the person I am."
"Then change." she snatched her hand away from his grasp, stepping back. "If you can't, then you're a coward."
"Do you think I don't want to change? 'Cause I do." he cut her off from breath, she let her shoulders fall for a break. "Jefferson is well known for blackmail in this school." he explained. "I have no other choice except to fall in with him." James rubbed the back of his neck, watching Eliza's slow reaction. Her face fell sadly.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken all that out on you."
"No, it's the truth."
