HarryI finished up my last session of today and head home. I can't help but think about one of my patients Clara, she's a troubled thirteen year old who's father left her. In many ways she reminds of Melanie. She has trust issues and lashes out at school that's why her mother put her in my session.
Years ago I couldn't even say her name even in my thoughts without hurting. I've came a long way in the past six years. After Melanie left, there was this void I tried to fill with endless sex and drinking. I got addicted to smoking too. All my bad habits kicked in full speed and dragged me down until I was spiraling out of control. My depression was terrible those first two years she left, I needed help but refused to ask for it. I thought I didn't deserve to be happy.
My mum got me help after my speech at Gemma's wedding. I don't remember a word I said because I was drunk and high but it wasn't a charming toast a brother should give at their sister's wedding. I went to meeting and therapy sessions and got the help I needed to move on with my life. Good thing mum gave me help when she did, because I was supposed to work for my old therapist to gain some experience right after graduation.
A year after being sober, I adopted a dog, he's a two year old Beagle, Ollie. He's a handful but I love the pup. One day as I was playing with him in the park he bumped into this woman's legs and she dropped her expensive camera.
"Ollie! Come back here!" I shout as my energetic dog runs off. He nearly tramples a woman with midnight black hair wearing a baseball cap. She was taking pictures of the park when Ollie tried to run through her open legs. The woman, frightened by Ollies sudden appearance drops her camera on the concrete.
"Fuck!" She yells grabbing her broken camera. I call Ollie one more time and he returns to me. I pick him up and go apologize to the woman.
"I'm so sorry about your camera, I'll pay for a new one," I say immediately.
"I'm sorry, that won't cut it unless you throw in a coffee date as well," she grins, her grey eyes twinkle as she speaks. Her, olive skin tone and dark hair compliment her nicely. I have to admit she's beautiful even in some baggy tattered up overalls. I like how she doesn't care what she wear she just throws something on and ignores the stares.
"Okay, I can do that. I'm Harry."
"Jasmine."
Jasmine and I went on several dates until we called it official. I didn't want to rush into anything after how things ended with Melanie. I took my time to really know her and she's an all around amazing woman. We dated for over two years until I finally proposed to her. Our wedding will be this time next year. Jasmine has a few projects she has to finish before she plans the wedding. She's an professional photographer and does pictures for magazines, businesses and for herself. Right now she's doing work for National Geographic in Africa. Jasmine left a couple days ago, she calls when she has signal which is rarely. She's doing some work for the magazine which will take about a week but she also wants to do a project for herself. She said a months top, she wants to visit Nigeria, Kenya, and Ethiopia for her project piece. I ask what it will be about but she always respond, "it's a surprise. You'll see on my gallery night." Which will hopefully be a month from now.
I'm glad to say I'm finally happy again and Jasmine is a part of that. I didn't think I get to be this happy after Melanie but I am if anything more than the time with her. At first I couldn't see why she left me but now I know if she didn't we only get in each other ways from reaching our goals. I was slowly becoming dependent on her by falling deeply in love with her so quickly. I thought I needed her to be happy but I realize now I can be happy without her.
Now I'm with Jasmine and she makes me happy. I try to use my brain more than my heart at the beginning of our relationship to avoid all the things that went wrong with Melanie and me. Nothing terrible has happened yet so I think it helped.
I make myself dinner, baked chicken breast with mac & cheese, and spinach. I watch whatever's on the telly as I enjoy my food. I talk with my sister for a little while. She has a little one on the way and I can't wait to see my niece or nephew. After two years being a child therapist I bought a daycare. I offer free sessions for to anyone enrolled at my daycare. When I bought this place from the last owner I changed a couple of things. I change the age limit to 12 instead of ten and gave them a separate room that includes board games, videos games and computers. I also added a cafeteria with a tv. It's smaller compared to ones in schools, probably seats 30 kids at a time.
My staff is well trained and each age group are separated into different rooms. The very first room is the cafeteria. 0-1 are in the the next room and I make sure my most advanced staff members work that room, Kaitlyn and Emma.
2-3 are across the hall, where I try to spend about three hours through out the day for them to learn. I tell my staff to spread them for one hour in the morning with fun creative exercises, then play time. One, before lunch. Then story time to get ready for their naps. Lastly a creative song that helps them learn either an alphabet, food, colors, counting etc. The kids play afterwards until their parents come pick them up. Similar for the 4-5 rooms that's next door.
Across is 6-9 it's empty until 3 when the bus brings the kids to the daycare. Same for the 10-12 room. I hire teenagers sometimes but they mainly deal with the older kids because their less experienced. The older kids don't cause too much trouble, they either play, color or do homework until their parents come get them.
This summer I'm planning on doing fun activities and field trips for the kids 6-12. The activities are for everyone but the field trips require parents permission slips since they won't be at the daycare. I know one will be at an amusement park already but I'm still putting the calendar together. I had a manger but she quit last week and I'm currently looking for a new one to help me out. Emma has been great as temporary manager but I can tell she doesn't want to do it forever.
"You better enroll in my daycare, family discount," I half joke. I do want her to enroll so I can see my niece or nephew whenever I want when they get here. The youngest we enroll is four months but we haven't had any younger than six months.
"I just might, how often are you there?"
"Quite often, my office is across the street. I go anytime I don't have any sessions." It's was great for business too and now that I own it myself I don't ever worry about paying rent. My clients pay each session and I charge 100 pounds per session now. I of course work something out with the families if they can't pay me right away. I think everyone should be allowed help even if they can't afford it. With the daycare, the parents pay monthly. I recently accepted drop-ins and we charge them by the hour.
My sister and I finish our conversation before she hangs up the phone. I head to bed early knowing I have a long day tomorrow.

Ring ring ringI groan and reach on my nightstand to answer the phone. Without looking at the caller ID, I answer. Maybe it's Jasmine, I miss hearing her voice.
"Hello," I mumble, wiping my eyes.
"Hello, is this Harry Styles." Who is this? I've never heard this man before nor gave him my number.
"Yeah?" I question. I'm kind of nervous should I hang up.
"I'm calling to inform you that..."
This can't be happening
