"Kelly calm down, I will handle it. I'm your maid of honor after all." I say and hang up.

"Maid of honor that's a lot of responsibility," Harry says.

"I get why it's an honor but it's a pain in my ass," I state. Harry and I have been hanging out together for the last week. It's nice to get out the house since my mom does nothing but cry. I want her to mourn in her own way but this has to stop soon; I'm worried that I'll have to get her some help. Harry seems to be doing better at least when I'm around.

"Go to dinner with me tonight," he blurts.

"What?"

"As a thank you. Mel you've helped me a lot and I can tell you need a break from planning and your mother."

"I don't know..."

"C'mon it's my treat," he beams and I couldn't say no to his perfect smile. "Fine I'll go."

"Good, pick you up at seven." He says before leaving the park bench. Gosh what did I get myself into.

I go to the hotel where Kelly wants her wedding  reception and track down the hotel manager. A man with glasses in his mid forties, with distinct thick sideburns. I've seen hedges thinner than the things growing on the side of his head.

I smile and greet the man focusing on the center of his face otherwise my attention will be else where. He was nothing but respectful during our meeting and it took quite a lot of convincing to get the venue. I almost lost hope until I gazed around his office and noticed he loved old bands some of which Harry put me on. He told me numerous things about them and I'm glad he did because it helped me win over the man.

"Wow, I'm just surprised someone young as you know so much about them."

"Yeah, I had a friend who put me on and loved them ever since," I grin as he walks me out to the lobby.

"It was nice meeting you miss Cole. Tell the bride to call us for any additional questions regarding the venue."

"Thank you, Mr. Conway, will do." I wave goodbye and get into my mother's car.

Now I have to get groceries and cleaned the house. My heart aches when I hear the weeps of my mother in her room as I carry the bag of groceries inside. I've never been in a situation like this before so I have no idea what to do. My mom was always the one wiping away my tears, she was the strong one and now she's broken and I can't help her. Believe me I've tried but all I seem to do is make things worse.
Maybe I should call dad soon and see what he would do.

I cook my mom some dinner (if she'll eat it) and tidy up the living room before getting ready for my date—wait is it a date? I don't think it is but it still sounds like one on paper. Shaking the thought I take a shower and change into something nice. A white dress with ruffle sleeves and black flats, it's simple but great for any restaurant. Not too fancy and not too dressed down.

I lightly knock on my mother's door before entering leaving her plate by her bed. She lays numb in her blankets; I almost thought she was sleeping by how still she is. I kiss her head and tell her I'm going out for a bit, all I get is a nod. I don't want to push but I'm afraid she'll stay like this if I don't do anything soon.

The doorbell goes off and I make my way to the door. Harry grins as it swings open dressed quite nice I may add. "You looked great," he says looking me up and down and my face heats up. Little butterflies rumble but I quickly stop them trying not to get my old feeling resurface.
