Melanie

As I'm fixing to leave for the day, Zayn approaches me with his lovely smile. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a small crush on him. He's been super sweet to me and we've gotten pretty close to each other this past month.

"Uh Mel?" He scratches the back of his head.

"Yes, Zaynie," I say knowing he hates it. The little girls call him that and he doesn't have the heart to tell them to stop.

"It's only cute when they say it," he mutters.

"Oh so, I'm not cute. I see how it is," I joke and turn my head as if I was offended.

"Didn't say that, you're really beautiful." I turn to face him to see if he was messing with me, but he just walks closer and my throat becomes dry.

"Mel, I was thinking we should go out for dinner?"

"Like as friends or a...date?" I speak slowly I didn't expect any of this today.

"A date, I think we have a connection and I want to see where it goes. If you don't feel the same then it's okay, I at least wanted to try." Wow, really didt think Zayn even liked me. I figured he only see me as his friend. I also wasn't thinking about dating anyone right now, but maybe if all goes well I'll get over Harry.

"Yes, I'd love to go to dinner with you. How about next Saturday."

"It's a date," he grins.

I walk into Stephen's gallery and sees he's setting up a table. As the door loudly shuts echoing in the room he turns his head my way. A smile grows on his face as he speedily walks towards me. I smile as we embrace, I missed him so much.

"God, I missed your dorky smile," I say as we let go. He's hair is much shorter than the last time I've seen him two years ago. He came to visit me for my birthday and had a blast, he even came out to me as bisexual that day and I was the first he told. So, I'm happy we could share that moment together.

"Could say the same for your. So what's happened in the month you've been here." It's crazy how we didn't reunite at all this whole month. He was busy with teaching and the gallery, so I understand why it was hard to find times to hangout.

"Well, I started working at a daycare, but guess who's my boss."

"No clue, tell me."

"It's Harry." His eyes widened in shock.

"What? Did you know that when you applied?"

"If I did, I wouldn't have applied. But it gets worse, we're kinda friends now, but I still have feelings for him and he's engaged," I huff.

"Damn sweetie, you got yourself a shitty situation," he chuckles and I playfully shove him.

"Thanks for such encouraging words," I dryly reply.

"Look, I don't think you should even be talking to Harry outside of work. If you avoid him as much as possible you might move on quicker."

"That's what I'm hoping," I sigh.

"Now, tell me about what's going on in your life."

He tells me about how fun teaching is and that he's hosting a party for the art community tomorrow night in his gallery and I should come. I agree since I could meet new people and make new friends. It beats staying home because I'm still mad at my mother for lying.
