Greenflame Oneshots (Hiatus)

Kai's song

The rain pattered against the windows of the Destiny's Bounty. The five ninja sat on the two long couches and watch the film on TV with interest and a little boredom. Cole was leaning on Zane's shoulder, trying to fall asleep. Jay held Nya's hand, the two very interested in the show, and Lloyd looked down at his phone.

"Ugh, what are we watching again?" Lloyd groaned

"A movie." Jay replied plainly

Lloyd huffed "What movie?"

"I don't know, ask Kai."

Lloyd rolled his eyes and turn his head "Hey Kai, do you-"

Lloyd blinked, seeing he was talking to air. He looked around the room but he didn't see the fire ninja anywhere.

Panic arouse in his chest, but it was just small. Kai could be in his room, or with Sensei. Wait, Sensei was with his mother and father. Lloyd jumped off the sofa and walked to their room. He and Kai shared a room like Jay and Cole while Zane and Nya get their own. He was fine with his roommate, since it was his crush.

But when he opened the door, Kai wasn't there either. Only his phone.

Now Lloyd panicked. Kai never went anywhere without his phone, even on missions. He grabbed Kai's phone and ran back into the living room.

"Guys! Kai's not here!" Exclaimed Lloyd, waving his arms around.

"Relax, just call him." Nya muttered

Lloyd scoffed "How? When I found his phone on his bed."

Now the ninja stood in alert, knowing as well as Lloyd that Kai never leaves his phone out in the open "You don't think he was kidnapped, do you?" Jay said fearfully.

Lloyd felt his heart drop "No, there's no sign of battle and Kai wouldn't...he wouldn't let himself get kidnapped." Lloyd stuttered.

"Ssh, do you all hear that?" Zane said quietly, hushing his brothers and sister.

Everyone was silent, Jay cutting off the TV in the process. Music. Soft, piano music was played from above them. They didn't waste anytime and rushed to the deck, where it was currently raining a bit heavily. Lloyd gasped as he saw his best friend and crush sitting on the railing of the ship with a small keyboard in his lap. Before anyone could confront the master of fire, they heard something none of them heard before, not even Nya.

They heard Kai sing.

"It's been way too long for me to find it this hard
Sitting alone, my fingers picking the sofa apart
In attempt to distract from the fact that I miss you
I wonder if your friends have had to carry you home
And stay for the night because they don't want to leave you alone
Way before it was fun, it's becoming an issue."

They widened their eyes in surprise, shocked at how great Kai was at singing. Lloyd came closer to Kai, but quietly, with the others following behind.

"I know it's cruel
But I kind of hope you're tortured too
Tell me does your heart stop, at the party, when my name drops
Like you stood at the platform when the trains cross
Are you hurting? Yeah, you must be
Or is it just me?

Tongue-tied, screaming on the inside
When I say that we broke up and they ask why

Lloyd covered his mouth at the amount of emotion in Kai's voice, and felt tears in his eyes. He glanced at the others and saw they were in the same condition, staring at the fire master in shock.

"I heard a rumour you've been spending some time
With that blonde girl you work with and I know she's exactly your type
And my miserable mind's running wild with the picture
Or are you there by yourself, dialing, redialing my number?
And I'm calling your mother, spilling tears on my jumper again
