Kai sat at home, reading a book his friend, Zane, suggested him to read. The Book of Phoniex, the name of the book was very interesting actually. Jay made fun of him for being related to the book since he was a little Pyro. But Kai could care less.

A knock came frome his door causing his heart to drop. He knew who it was and why he came here. He just hoped he was wrong. Kai stood, his book laying on the sofa, and sprinted to the door. He opened it slowly, and he gasped at the horrific sight. A teenage boy with messy titanium blonde hair, extremely pale skin, and sparkling red eyes that were filled with tears. His clothes were torn and ripped, and he only wore wet socks. He had bruises and cuts all over his body, and a scratch on his beautiful pure face.

"Oh god, Lloyd." Kai said breathlessly "What happened to you?"

Lloyd didn't say a word, instead he just broke down. Tears splattered on the ground like rain drops, and his body trembled from all the events he had dealt with. Kai wrapped his arms around Lloyd's waist and legs, picking him up bridle style. He kicked the door shut and walked upstairs to his room. He had Jay and Nya install a bathroom in his room, which in this situation was the best thing he had asked for. Gently, he sat Lloyd on his bed and took out Lloyd's spare clothes that he made Lloyd keep over his house.

"Lloyd, I'm gonna run a bath for you. I'll be right back." Kai whispered.

Lloyd gripped onto Kai's arm and shook his head "N-No, please. D-Don't l-leave me." Lloyd whimpered.

Kai smiled softly and pecked his best friend's forehead "I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be in the room, and I'll be there when you wash up. I won't ever leave you alone Lloyd."

Lloyd sniffed and stared into Kai's eyes "H...He b...b-beat m-me...f-f-for...staying f-friends with you."

"Who?"

"R-Ronald."

That psycho bitch! Ronald was Lloyd's boyfriend for 4 months and Kai hated him to the core. Every time Lloyd tried to get away from, Ronald threaten him. He got drunk a lot and blamed all of it on Lloyd. Kai wanted to rip him to shreds but Lloyd stopped him. But this...this was the first time he actually beat Lloyd up. Kai still had no idea why Lloyd decided to be with that douche bag.

Kai growled angrily and Lloyd jumped, thinking Kai was angry at him "No, no, no, I'm not mad at you Lloyd." Kai said softly, stroking his cheek "I could never be angry with you."

"R-Really?" Lloyd said in a small, child like voice.

"Really. I won't leave you either. Let me run this bath for you and then I can bandage you up while we talk about this." Kai whispered softly.

Lloyd nodded and slowly let go of Kai's arm. Kai kissed Lloyd's forehead again and ran to the bathroom.

Lloyd hissed as Kai treated his bandage "Ow!"

"Sorry, I'm almost done." Kai said sweetly.

Lloyd bit his bottom lip before speaking "S-So...what happens now?"

Kai finished the last bandage and sat on the bed next to Lloyd "Is Ronald still at your house?"

"Yes...but w-what are you g-gonna do?" Lloyd asked.

Kai wrapped his arms around Lloyd's waist, a pink blush spreading across their cheeks "Now, we sleep with all the doors and windows locked. Your staying with me until further notice and I'll call the police in the morning."
