trigger warning

Niall: Niall always seemed so happy to you. You'd never seen him down. Even when things were not going his way, he always wore a smile. So to see huge scars covering parts of his legs, it broke your heart in two. You tried not to show that though. You knew it had to take a lot for him to trust you enough to show you such a deep secret of his. "I'm trying to stop," Niall explained, his voice not as steady as it normally was,"I just get so overwhelmed sometimes, and this... It helps." You took a moment to take in his words, before replying slowly, and calmly, "If you want to stop, I'll do whatever I can to help you." You were so desperate to say the right things, and you hoped that was correct. You didn't want to say anything to hurt him, or do anything wrong. He was trusting you, and you didn't want him to regret that choice. A small smile found it's way onto Niall's face, and you felt a sense of relief. "Thank you [Y/N]." "I love you," you told him, as you held his hands tightly. You felt so proud of him for telling you. You knew it couldn't have been easy for him. You had no idea how hard it truly was, but you did understand that it was hard. "So are there doctors to help this?" Niall nodded, "Yeah, but I wanted to be sure I had your support before I did anything, I need you." You were so glad you hadn't reacted badly, "Well I'm here. I'll always be here for you."

Harry: "Oh my god," those words flew out of your mouth, while tears sprung to your eyes, as soon as you stepped into the bathroom to see a blade placed against Harry's skin. Shock filled you, as you tried to comprehend what you were seeing. There was no blood or scar yet, so you tried to convince yourself you were seeing things wrong. "[Y/N]," Harry said, as he tried to hide the blade as quickly as he possibly could. As he looked at you, you noticed that his eyes were red and puffy. Seeing that, and knowing he was trying to hide the blade, proved to you that what you thought you'd seen had been right. "What are you doing?" you asked, though you knew the answer. "Nothing," he lied, and then tried to fake a smile, "I was just looking for something." You shook your head, as your mind spun, "No, you... I saw... Are you okay?" Again the answer was obvious, but you had to ask. "[Y/N]..." Harry started, but he didn't know what else to say. He was in so much pain already, and seeing your heartbreak over what you'd seen, it only made him feel worse. Many long minutes of awkward silence followed, before you spoke to him again, "Will you talk to me about it? Or no?" Harry knew he should tell you some of what was going on. Hiding it from you wasn't helping him in any way. But telling you what had led him to feel so down, it was hard, "I want to, but I don't know what to tell you." You took a deep breath, "Just tell me what's going on. Please."

Liam: "It's not a big deal," Liam tried to tell you, about the scars you'd seen him create on his arm. Having walked in on the man you love harming himself was the worst thing you'd ever seen, but Liam didn't think it was that big of a deal at all. "You were harming yourself," you stated, trying to control your anger. Being mad at him would do no good, you knew that. Him brushing it off as nothing though, it was driving you crazy. "I promise, I'm fine," he defended, feeling angry as well. He didn't think he was doing anything horrible. In his mind he was fine. He just wanted you to let this go, but you weren't, "Let it go [Y/N]. It's not a big deal!" "It is though," you argued, wishing he'd just admit he had a problem, but you understood it was not that easy. "No, it's not. I'll quit. I promise," he responded, lying, hoping that would be enough. It wasn't though, and you shook your head, "I love you too much to chance this. I'm going to tell someone. I'm sorry Liam. If you hate me for doing this... Well I'll know I did the right thing." Liam argued even more after you said that. He didn't think that was needed at all. You knew though, one day, he'd be grateful you did. That's what you had to tell yourself, or else you'd never tell anyone, and Liam wouldn't get the help he needed. You loved him so much, and couldn't chance anything bad happening to him. "I love you Liam, and I'm going to help you no matter what."

Zayn: "Why?" you asked, because it was the only thing that popped into your mind immediately. Had you thought longer, and not been so shocked over walking in on Zayn with the fresh scar across his skin, maybe you would have said something else. Something that would have been helpful. Right away though, it was the only word in your mind. "Why?" "I don't know," Zayn answered honestly. There wasn't one reason that had caused him to do this. It was many things that all added up, and he had no idea how to even begin to explain to you what went on in his mind before it happened. Not that he would have told you the truth, even if he could explain it clearly in words. "I just don't know what to say," you said, feeling so sick over what Zayn had been doing. You loved him so much, and it was so hard for you to think that he was in any kind of pain. "I love you Zayn." "I know you do," he replied, as you grabbed his hand, "I love you too." You tried to smile, but just couldn't, "I want to help you. However I can, I want to." "I know," Zayn nodded, glad that you were being supportive. Though he could see you were shocked and confused, the only thing he cared about was that you were being supportive, and you weren't screaming at him, which is what he had expected when he'd see your face the moment you'd stepped into the room. "And that means a lot to me."

Louis: Stepping into Louis' dressing room to surprise him, you froze. He had been putting on his shirt when you stepped into the room, but it was still over his head for a few moments. He panicked when he heard the door, and quickly pulled it on in a matter of seconds, but it didn't change what you already saw. You had no words to say, as you thought of the fresh scar that was covering the upper part of his arm. You wanted to say so much, but nothing seemed right, no matter how many things popped into your head. "[Y/N], it's not what you..." he tried to lie, but stopped short, "Don't worry." You opened your mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Louis was completely panicking, trying to make what you'd seen seem better, "Really it's nothing. I can see you're panicking, but don't." You felt tears in your eyes, as you finally found your words, "You could have told me. What..." The question left your mind, as you realized all you wanted to do was hug Louis. You quickly walked across the room, and when you wrapped your arms around him, you felt him relax. You weren't talking about the problem, but for the moment it didn't matter. You loved him, and you just wanted him to know you were there for him no matter what.
