Liam: He's sweet with her, strong arms lifting her up even when she gets too big. At fifteen, she's distancing herself from you, finding that she enjoys freedom more than she enjoys her parents. You knock on her door, head bowed slightly. There's no answer, so you figure she must be asleep, but as you turn away, you hear a sniffle and a soft "shh" that you'd recognize anywhere. "Darling," you hear him coo, through the door. "Things change in all of us. Talk to her, she's your mum. She loves you," and with that, you felt your heart breaking a little.
Zayn: His little girl is his baby, she always has been, and even now at the age of twenty five, he sees the fragile, dark-haired princess he used to carry on one shoulder. As they walk, she shakes slightly. Zayn pulls her closer and says something soothing - something you miss from your spot at the front of the building, where her fiance stands with little tears in his eyes. You scan his face - he'll treat her right, you assess You figure he has to, what with her watchdog father. Zayn pulls your daughter close once more and presses a kiss with weathered lips to her cheek before handing her over, the weight of his love comforting on her shoulders.
Louis: "Hey, squirt," he smiled, ruffling the hair of your ten year old daughter. Lacey brushed him off and groaned, dropping her bag into a chair in the dining room. "Louis, I hate it when you do that," she whined. Your husband laughed and took a seat across from her, a plate of fruit placed in front of her. "That's why I do it, Lace," he winked. Lacey shook her head and rifled through her backpack for her English homework, picking at the cut up fruit slowly. Louis observed her; a plucky child with a warm heart who had accepted her mother's then-boyfriend with a weary gaze but a trusting hand. As he helped her with her assignments, he admired her. This little girl he had been so cautious of at first he now felt nothing but love for - as if she were his own.
Niall: Niall hoisted the five year old onto his hip, careful of her soft body. She was already half asleep, and as soon as she was settled, her head dropped onto his shoulder gracelessly. Niall smiled and huffed out a laugh, dropping to place a kiss to the top of her brunette head. He held her tightly, never wanting to let go. He had already had to let go of his two elder sons, and he had watched his friends and brothers drift from their growing daughters. For now, he would savor the moments like these - when he could carry her, take care of her, and keep her safe.
Harry: "That's the last of it," she asserted, eyes drifting over her new home. The space was tiny, but it was hers - her very own apartment in the big city, only five minutes from campus and in the heart of excitement. Harry wasn't so thrilled, though, as he leant against the doorway. "You're sure you want to stay here?" he asked gruffly, hoping that he wasn't coming off too overbearingly. "Your mum and I would have no problem with you moving back in." She rolled her eyes and faced him, smiling though she was frustrated. "Daddy, I'll be fine. I know the city and I have your number. Uncle Liam only lives a half-hour away, if I need anything," she reminded him. Harry smiled half-heartedly, wishing he was the one only a half-hour away, the one she could come to if she needed anything
