Harry: "What is that?" you asked softly as Harry pulled out a little box from his sweater pocket, setting it on the coffee table. "It's a gift for you... open it," he urged, pursing his lips together. You leaned forwards and opened up the small box, seeing the beautiful, dainty ring. "Don't panic, it's not an engagement ring," he chuckled, quickly noticing your shocked reaction. "It's a promise ring..." he continued. "This last year and a half we've spent together has been wonderful and I want to eventually marry you, but until that comes, I just hope you'll accept this promise ring until I can replace it with an engagement ring," he said nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. You slipped the ring out and smiling like an idiot, slipped it onto your ring finger. "Does that mean you're accepting the promise?" he laughed softly and you nodded your head, grabbing his cheeks and pulling his lips against yours.

Liam: "I want to show you something..." Liam said softly, smiling softly at you as he sat next to you on the bed, crossing his legs. You smiled softly and looked over at him, raising your eyebrow when he slipped a ring out of the bedside table. He moved to face you and took your hand into his, slipping the ring on your ring finger. "I wanted to give you a promise ring, because I want to make a promise to you that one day we'll get married, that one day we'll be so much more than just boyfriend and girlfriend, but until then, I hope that this is enough," he said softly. "Really?" you asked softly, smiling softly. "Yeah," he chuckled, nodding his head, keeping his hand around yours. "Liam it's beautiful..." you said softly, dropping your head against his shoulder and just admiring the thing. "I'm glad you like it love," he murmured, pressing his lips against the top of your head.

Niall: "I've been saving my birthday present until last," you chuckled softly when you two got into the car after a family dinner at his mum's. "You didn't have to get me anything," he chuckled, looking over at you. You rolled your eyes and took out the small but neatly wrapped box, handing it over to him. Niall furrowed his eyebrows but tore the small amount of paper away and opened up the little box, revealing the wolf grey band inside. "A ring?" he asked curiously, pulling it out. "A promise ring..." you said softly, playing with your fingers on your lap. He looked over at you, smiling softly. "What does that mean?" "It means that like... I promise to be with you, always and vice versa... It's just a promise that we'll work together and be together you know?" you explained softly, worried that he wouldn't want that kind of commitment. He slid it on his finger and leaned over the consoled to kiss you gently, cupping your cheek. "I don't need a ring for that love... but it's wonderful, thank you..."

Louis: You took a deep breath, feeling like this was so stupid, however, this was what you wanted to do and you just hoped he felt the same. "Louis..?" you said softly, playing with his fingers as he sat across from you in the dimly lit restaurant. "Yeah?" he asked softly, looking straight at you. "How long have we been together?" you asked softly, already knowing the answer. "About a year, no?" he smiled softly and you nodded your head. "Yeah, about a year..." you said softly, digging into your purse to find the black ring, setting it out on the table. "I know girls don't usually give their boyfriends promise rings, but I just... I wanted to give this to you because you know how much I love you, and I just want to promise you that that will never change..." you spoke, Louis taking in every word. He kissed over your knuckles softly before picking it off of the table and slipping it in, a huge grin on his face. "Perfect fit..."

Zayn: "One day love, I want to marry you, I want to be your husband, I want to get down on one knee and propose to you, but I know that the both of us aren't ready for that yet..." he said softly, standing with you in the airport. "So I got you a promise ring... a symbol that will hold its place until an engagement ring comes along and then eventually a wedding ring... I really wanted to do this before I left so you know that it's just you and me love... no one else..." he said softly, holding onto your hand with the ring in his other one. "Zayn..." you breathed out softly, pressing your lips against his softly before letting him slip the ring onto your finger, the small band acting as such a huge symbol. "I promise, we don't need a ring for that, but I do promise that I'll wear this every day..."
