Louis' sister, Lottie, is turning 16 tomorrow and we're going to a small party/family gathering at Louis' childhood home. Louis decided to bake Lottie a cake, and he had spent hours on the internet getting ideas for what he wanted it to look like. He eventually decided on a two layer cake, with chocolate as the top layer and vanilla as the bottom. He covered the entire think in light pink icing and then he used a darker pink icing make millions of tiny flowers all over the cake. He usually is not one for sitting still and concentrating but he was busy all day finishing the cake. The amount of brotherly love he has put into this cake is unbelievable.
"It's looking really good, Lou!" I complement as I enter the kitchen the night before the party.
"Thanks, babe. It took me a few hours but I just hope she likes it." Louis says, a small frown spreading across his handsome features as he sits down at the kitchen table.
I chuckle slightly and wrap my arms around his neck, sitting in his lap. "She'll love it. I promise." I say and kiss his cheek.
"Thanks, babe. I'm really tired though, even if it's just seven o'clock." I laugh and get up from his lap.
"Well you should go to bed then. I need to study for a little while, but go to bed." I say pulling his hands so he'll get up.
"But I'll be cold without you..." he says, pushing his bottom lip out.
I push my bottom lip out as well and kiss his cheek. "I'm sorry, babe. I'll be there when you wake up though." I say and shove him towards our bedroom.
He smiles and kisses me softly. "Good night, baby. I'll see you tomorrow morning." He says and walks up the stairs.
"Night, Lou!" I yell behind him and start placing my books on the counter. I move the cake to the edge so that I have enough room to spread everything out. I some how manage to move my books a little and push the cake even closer to the edge, luckily doesn't fall off.
After two hours of studying, I decide to just lay down on my arms for a minute or two, just to get some new energy to finish the last chapter. Without thinking, I cross my arms on my books, and shove them forward to lay comfortable. As my head touches my arms, I hear a terrible sound that makes my heart drop.
Oh please no.
I slowly lift my head and instead of seeing the cake where it is suppose to be, I see a mush of pink and brown lying on the floor. Tears immediately spring to my eyes and I can hear Louis' footsteps rushing down the stairs.
"Babe? Are you okay?" he asks rushing over to me and wrapping his arms around me.
"I- the cake." I mumble, one tear escaping.
"What did you do?" he asks angrily, letting go of me and standing next to the cake, a disappointed look covering his face.
"I'm so sorry! I just wanted to lay on my arms cause I was so tired, but then I must have accidently pushed my books forward and they pushed the cake off." I explain with tears falling down my face.
"How could you be so careless! I spent the entire day on this cake!" Louis yells making me wince.
"I know, and I'm so unbelievably sorry! I'll bake a new one I promise!" I say and try laying a hand on his arm.
"It won't be the same. I put so much into this cake and you just messed it up." He says, making me feel so bad. I didn't mean for this to happen.
"I'm really sorry Louis! I didn't mean for this to happen! I'll clean it up and bake a new one even it takes the entire night!" I exclaim and start opening the trashcan to put the messed up cake in.
