Princess Gardevoir remained practicing with Wigglytuff until Gallade and the other pokemon had finished discussing the plan that would let them reach the witch in the fortified castle. When he was ready, the rest of the pokemon left them alone. It made the Princess feel more comfortable since she was more used to be around Gallade. "The first thing you need to do..." Gallade started, standing next to the Princess and aiming a tree. "Is to clear your mind and feel the power inside you..." He took a deep breath with his eyes closed. The princess tried to pay attention to Gallade's words, but he just looked kind of cute when trying to focus that hard. "When you feel that power that tickles in your head, you think on what part of your body to send it. Your hands will be the ideal place since it makes it easier to control the exit of it." In that moment, Gallade's arms started glowing with a pink energy. "Then, you aim and shoot!" In that moment, he launched that energy as a Psycho Cut and hit the tree, cutting it in two. "Questions, my lady?" He smiled at her.

"Seems easy!" The Princess said and give it a try. "First, open my mind!" She said enthusiastic, this of learn to fight as pokemon had her exited but also nervous. Gallade looked a bit worried at her and shook his head. "No, Princess. Not open, clear your mind." He gave her a small smile so it would not seem like a scold. "Let me help you, my lady." He got behind her and gently put his hands on her forehead, that way he could lend her some of his power. "Close your eyes and just think of your power." Closing her eyes and with Gallade's help, she could feel it, that tickling sensation on her head. She continued doing as he had told her, thinking on how the power moved from her mind to her hands, then she opened her eyes for aiming and thought on it leaving her body. That way, some waves traveled from her hands to the tree Gallade cut and cracked it with Psychic. "Did... I do that...?" She covered her mouth unbelievable.

With a small giggle, Gallade placed his hand on her shoulder. "Yes, you did, Princess. I'm so proud of you... Though you have always been of quick learning." Gallade blushed once more, it was really impressive how the Princess was becoming a warrior, a powerful one. She was not that defenseless and fragile girl he thought she was anymore. The Princess blushed as well and slightly looked away with a smile. "P-Princess..?" Gallade got a bit confused by the Princess reaction but she planned on tease him a bit. "I... was just thinking how cute you look when you blush, Gallade." She looked innocently at him and put her hands on his blushing cheeks. "P-Princess! I-I...! I-I..." Gallade got really nervous his heart beat fast and strong and all his face turned red while he tried to look somewhere else to hide his reaction. The Princess laughed and then leaned her forehead toward his. "I love you, Gallade..." She whispered sweetly at him.

Thinking innocently, Gallade hugged her a bit. "I love you too, Princess... You... are my everything..." Despite his feelings, he knew they could not be together. She was a princess and he just her loyal protector but above all, when everything would be over, she would return to be human and he would remain as a pokemon. Of course, she loved him as a close friend and nothing more, he knew that. Still, he told her some things that were both in his mind and heart without exposing his heart completely. "Oh, Gallade... I wish we could stay this way..." The Princess lowered her head sadly, leaning toward Gallade's chest and feeling her sorrow, he hugged her lovingly. "I know it sounds selfish but my life at the castle... All my responsibilities and lessons there... I'm tired of just doing what I'm told, I must accomplish everyone's expectations perfectly... I just want to be myself, take my own path..." She sighed but then looked at Gallade with a smile. "And that is why you make me so happy. Every time I'm alone with you, I feel free. I feel... I can choose my own path and no matter where I choose to go, you will be there for me." She added. Gallade was speechless, he had no idea her duties were making such a pressure on her. "P-Princess..." He took a deep breath for calming his nerves, then he took a step back and kneeled. "As your loyal knight, I swear my only mission in life is your happiness. I would always be your light in dark paths, your sword and shield in any battle, no matter the means to it. I swear my deeds are not because is my obligation but my pleasure to serve you."

Gallant as always, Gallade had the Princess flattered once more. Even if shy at times, he knew the right words. "My dear Gallade... You have me speechless..." The Princess covered her blushing cheek, as she watched him, then offered her hand to help him stand up, maybe tease him a bit to break the seriousness of the situation. She even felt a bit mischievous about it, causing her eyes to suddenly start glowing and some spheres formed around Gallade, causing him to get confused. He hardly managed to stand up and when trying to walk he looked like an overdrunk man and soon feel down. "Gallade!" The Princess approached him to help him, but he felt his head was spinning and could hardly do something. "P-Princess..." He moaned. "I-I'm sorry Gallade... I really didn't want to use you as an aim." How would she not feel guilty after accidentally aiming a Moon Blast at him, and then discovering a Draining Kiss and a Confuse Ray by using them on him?

The other pokemon, who were eavesdropping them, went quick to help Gallade. Soon, both he and the Princess continued practicingher moves now that they knew what she could perform. They worked on heraccuracy, evasiveness and agility until she dominated the art of battle at thetime the moon was already over them. "You are ready, Princess." Gallade said abit serious since he was quite tired. "You think... we will make it tomorrow?"They had only one day to prepare themselves for the hardest battle ever. Ifthey lose to the witch the next day, they would not only lose their kingdom, but maybe also one another. "We will make it, do not worry, my Lady... We haveplenty of help." He looked at the other pokemon who seemed ready for the invasion."For now, we must rest." The Princess nodded to Gallade's words and theyboth went to that hollowed tree they stayed last night and quickly got asleepin each other's arms.
