It was quite early in the morning, the sun had just begun to enter right through the huge windows of the castle, yet, the sound of someone running through the corridors could be heard. The princess was rushing right to her knight's room wearing a simple and comfortable dress, anxious to tell him her plans when he suddenly appeared right before her eyes after taking a turn in a hallway, surprising both. Gallade could not speak out like a human, but he had psychic powers, telepathy was one of them. "P-Princess..?!" His voice sounded surprised, at least on the Princess's head. "Oh, Gallade, you scared me!" Instead of Gallade, who tried to be stealthy, the princess did not mind speaking out loud. "I-I'm sorry... I thought there was an intruder in the castle. I needed to know if you were fine. I didn't expected you would be awake so early in a day like this..." He said, still in a worried expression but the Princess just giggled innocently. "Oh, my dear Gallade... If I was an intruder, wouldn't I be way much sneaky? Anyways, I was looking for you." She replied with that bright smile of hers, making Gallade to smile back. Just the fact she was looking for him made him very happy.
"Yes? Then how can I assist you today, my lovely lady?" Gallade knew that if the princess was looking for him was because she had something in mind, probably something somehow mischievous and that just he would ever accept to help but what she asked for leaved him totally shocked. "Well... my birthday is close, I'm going to be crowned queen and all that... so, I was wondering if, as gift, could we have a picnic at least in the Everleaf forest? Please?" She asked playing with one brown hair tress of hers and carefully choosing her words. Gallade, by other hand, was speechless. The Everleaf forest was a big forest next to the castle, it was close but still it was outside the castle.
One thing was to sneak into the kitchen to steal an extra cupcake or cookies but sneaking out of the castle was another story. The problem was not only the high security the castle had, it was contradictory for Gallade as well! When he was assigned to guard the Princess, his main order was to not let her get out of the castle and for years he had obeyed that order. Even if the Princess had already asked gently plenty of times in the past to let her go out, he would just establish a 'no' with a nice smile and offered her another activity and a sweet. Still, this time was different, it was a special occasion. Gallade was doubtful and the princess noticed that, so she tried to convince him more. "I just wanted to spend some time just with you, and you are so brave and strong, Gallade, that I am sure nothing bad will happen".With such innocent smile and flattering words, Gallade could not just say no. He sighed and said. "Ok, I will try to take you there. But we will be back in the castle before lunch, ok?" The Princess could not contain herself with the answer and jumped right into his arms. "Oh, thank you! Thank you so much! You are the best, Gallade!" Gallade blushed and shyly hugged her back. "Oh, I-I am not that g-great, my lady... I... just wish to see you happy..." He always loved and enjoyed making the Princess happy. Her joy was his joy and he appreciated every second he could see her smiling or listen her laughing. The Princess giggled once more while covering her blushing cheeks. It was so cute to see Gallade blushing but above all, listen to his sweet gallant words.
