6 months laterMomo waited for Shouto.
She got off from work a bit early today and decided to prepare a bit of feast.
The doorbell rang and she rushed to open it.
I can't wait to see him!
"Welcome home!"
"I'm home."He hung his coat and sat on the sofa. Shouto was exhausted.
Work was hard for the past few months, since the company was still going through many changes and it was draining the very energy out of him.
And Momo was busy too. Ever since the two started working, they saw less and less of each other.
"Momo, I'm gonna head to bed." Shouto tiredly sighed as he stood up.
He does look quite exhausted but he hasn't eaten.
"Shouto, why don't you eat something first, I've made soba." Momo gave him a warm smile.
"I'm not that hungry." He replied.
"But I'm sure-" She was cut off by Shouto, "Really Momo, I'm fine." He abruptly stated.
"I see." Momo sighed, she wasn't going to lie but hearing his voice sound like that, stung.
"I'll just pack this for you in the morning then." She silently mumbled before walking over to him and giving him a peck on the cheek, "Just get some rest, okay?"
Shouto felt guilt stab at his heart.
Momo was tired from work too, she had more or less the same amount of work Shouto had but she almost never snapped.
She kept her composure, and she worried for him endlessly. And he, he couldn't even appreciate the food that she took the trouble to make.
"I'm sorry." He whispered and hugged her tightly, "I'm so so sorry."
"Work must have been pretty tough today, huh?" She stroked his hair gently.
He nodded.
"Do you want to talk about it, possibly over some soba?" She questioned softly.
"I'd like that." He mumbled.
The couple had their dinner while telling each other about their day.
The two then washed their dishes, wrapped in a comfortable silence.
"It was wrong of me to snap at you like that, I may have been exhausted from work but you work just as hard, if not, more and you still made time to prepare all this food for me. You're amazing Momo." Shouto gave her an apologetic smile.
Happiness spread across Momo's face, "Shouto, you may not know this but when you I don't know, motivate me like that, it fills me up with so much of joy and confidence." She looked at him with her eyes shining, "You know, it's normal to get stressed out from work, so don't worry about it and plus, work gets hectic only for the first 6 months to a year since we're still new. Things will get better." She encouraged him.
Shouto looked at this wonderful woman,
What did I do to deserve her?
He held her hand, "What do you say we ditch the work assignments on Saturday and just take a day off."
She looked at the excitement on his face, and couldn't help but laugh.
"I mean, I don't want to delay the work assignments but we can finish it on Sunday so yeah, I guess let's have a day off." She happily chirped.
