The world was reeling from the Snap. The Avengers learned that their fallen space comrades were Peter Quill (the human), Drax (the green person), Mantis (the Belosar), and Groot (the tree). The survivors, Rocket (the raccoon) and Nebula (the blue woman) began their search for Thanos. Ezra and Sabine had managed to contact Hera. They learned that Rex and Zeb were dusted. They sat in their room and were just in shock.

"Why..." Ezra said, "why would Thanos want to destroy half of all life? What kind of monster wants to destroy trillions of innocent beings?"

"I don't know, Ezra," Sabine said, "I can only think that it'd have to be someone with nothing to lose. But, to take your anger out on innocents... to... to tear apart families..."

She began crying. Ezra and Sabine hugged each other tight, tears streaming down their face. The weight of all of their friends who Thanos killed came crashing down on them. The Avengers were still trying to hunt down where Thanos was. All of them were in full search and destroy mode. They had sent Daisy back to her organization to find Fury, but when she returned, she reported that he'd been dusted, but left a pager with a strange emblem on it. Thor recognized it. It belonged to Carol Danvers. Steve was going to invite them to hunt Thanos, but when he saw how heavily they were taking the deaths, he thought it best not to ask them.

They need time, he thought, I'll let them grieve.

Thor was outside to greet Carol when she arrived.

"Where's Fury?" she asked Steve when she was inside.

"Gone," Clint said, "along with half of all life."

"Who did it?"

"He's called Thanos," Rocket said, "he's a big purple nut who thinks destroying half of all life will be the best thing for the universe."

She joined them in their search for Thanos. After almost a month, they finally found him. During that month, Scott had an idea and disappeared into the Quantum Realm, and Clint left to be with his family, but didn't return. Steve went to Ezra's and Sabine's room and told them the news.

"If you don't want to come along," he said, "you can stay."

"We're coming," Ezra said, "Thanos will pay for what he did."

"He destroyed our friends, our families," Sabine said, "it's time that he was destroyed and they were brought back."

They suited up and went to a quinjet that Tony had equipped with a hyperdrive and got ready for launch. They took off, vector set, ready to exact vengeance for those Thanos had destroyed.
