They said that life is the most precious gift a person could ever have.

I couldn't agree more.

Losing someone is even a torment, worse it's a torture.

Yet the dread..

I wasn't able to think straight. Never pausing a moment to consider such decision-making. I did rash decisions. Ni hindi ko nga nagawang magtanong o nakisuyo man lang sa iba pang kakilala upang makapagkumpirma. Basta nakapunta ako sa Incheon Airport at nagawang sumakay ng eroplano. And like there was a portal, I then arrived in NAIA like I was kicked back to my true world.

I wasn't in my usual self.

"Iyong mga gamit mo, ipapadala na lang natin kapag pumunta na sila dito sa Pilipinas. Papasok ka ba bukas? Kasi..." ani Shine. I just watched her fixing the bed. Nang matapos ay humiga, nagpatuloy sa pagsasalita. "Tinawagan ko na din si Papa. Pwede naman daw hindi ka muna papasok bukas."

I didn't replied yet. Not that I don't know what to do or what tomorrow brings to me. Nahihiya ako kay Shine. She's the one who accompanied me here safe and sound. Iniwan niya ang trabaho niya para gabayan akong umuwi. I owe her a lot.

The soothing hands were on my back slowly caressing it. Then I felt my mother's hand holding me. Ginawaran niya ako ng ngiti tsaka nanumbaling sa direksyon ni Shine na ngayo'y pikit-matang nakahiga sa kama.

"Maiwan ko na kayo at nang makapagpahinga na. If you need anything nasa kabilang kwarto lang ako." Ani Mama.

Bumangon si Shine na marahang kinukusot ang mata, "'Di pa po ako natutulog Auntie."

Napatawa si Mama at dahan-dahang lumabas na ng kwarto. She's at the doorstep when she look back at us. "Maraming salamat iha," ani Mama kay Shine. Tumayo ako at sumunuod kay Mama para humalik sa pisngi. She gave me a reassuring smile before she went inside her room.

So here's what happened. That Mom is okay. She's really fine. She was even surprised that I came home earlier than what is expected. As for Kuya Jay, the ever over-acting one. Hinihingal si Mama nung nasa kwarto siya. She was then okay pero nasagi niya iyong vase kaya nahulog. The crashing was evident as I heard it over the line, Kuya Jay's reaction causes a miscommunication. Doon lang din ako nag-over act nang hindi na ma-kontak si Kuya Jay. His phone ran out of battery and he was preoccupied that he forgot to call or even beep me up online.

But at least my Mom's good and safe. And I'm home.

I came back and was about to lock our room when Shine says, "Nga pala si Sir Yohan..?"

Lumuwag ang pagkakahawak ko sa knob. Afraid of something. I find it hard to utter words. I'm not good at words... never at all. I might unveil things. Huminga ako ng malalim at marahang bumuga ng hangin. I locked the door and turned, only to find Shine lazily laid on the bed, even snoring lightly.

"Libre mo ngayon sa next stop total nanggaling kang Korea e!" Pangungutya ni Sue. "Oy! Nakahanap ka ba ng Koreano doon? Balato mo na sa akin, nagdala ka na lang din sana!"

Marahan kong kinusot ang kaniyang tagiliran. Impit siyang sumigaw at tinimpil ako sa braso. Parang hindi pa nakapunta dun e ang raming beses na kaya! She's been the Korea's Ambassador here in the Philippines, meaning, going there is just a piece of cake in her case. And why would I bring a Korean guy for her? She definitely have a boyfriend. I envy her a little... I mean that being an ambassador and having connections there.

We are along the famous small street here in Batangas. Gala namin ngayon. I invited Shine to join us but she has other plans. Kanina lang din ay nagpunta kami sa isang Korean Restaurant kasama si Mama, thank you lunch kay Shine. Kaya hindi na ako nangulit na sumama siya ngayon.
