{I turned this in for the school yearbook, along with 2 other poems, they chose the humorous one instead because they felt the last 4 stanzas were "too complicated". What are your thoughts?}

If the world was governed by women,
I can't guarantee it would be better.
But after seeing the world governed by men,
It's a thought I had, buried deep under.
Take the World War I, for example.
The shooting of an heir,
Started unnecessary violence,
And nation-wide despair.
Now, in the World War II,
It grew like pus on an uncovered cut.
Because of recovering issues,
Started again, out for blood.
In case of World War I,
If women were rulers,
Austria-Hungary wouldn't wait
For Germany to take over.
Instead, they would be brave,
And ask the Serbian Government about the murder.
After a meeting or two; it might take days,
The quarrel would be over.
In World War II
An unnecessary war,
We'd build everything up from steps one and two
And make sure we go back to the way things were.
But sadly, not everyone thinks so.
They say girls would fight over who's prettier.
Say that they were meant for chores,
And so our words would pass through their ears.
But if we put in our all
We'll prove that we are right.
Let's not try to prove each other wrong
And we'll take an oath to never fight.
Facing things calmly is the way to go,
Thinking before we speak is the cherry on top.
We might not be able to change everyone's minds, though
Since some are smart and some are not.
