"I DIDN'T STEAL it." Sadie spoke as she poured the thick red substance into the styrofoam cup. "I asked dad first. He said I could have it. Only because it's O-negative and it'll keep me satisfied without craving more."

Alice hummed as she entered the large space Carlisle had used as a study. Despite her sister's back being turned to her, she knew Sadie could still make out the sight of her deep grimace as she watched the contents of the small bag fall into the cup before her.

"You can stop looking at me like that." she told her.

"I was just confused." Alice explained.

Sadie shook her head. "But not about my lunch, I'm guessing."

Her sister nodded, turning her head and angling herself out the doorway to get a glimpse into the kitchen across the hall to where the rest of their family had been in the kitchen preparing a separate dinner. Edward had taken it upon himself to invite the Swan girl over for a meal that afternoon. He had figured that as long as she had been in on their grand secret; it was only essential that she meet the family. He did not want there to be some strange barrier between the two parties he cared about most.

"I thought I had a vision," Alice began. Sadie relaxed at her phrasing.

I thought.

That meant Sadie had been successful in working around her sister's ability. Her appetite was stronger than ever as of recently, and she could only take so much animal blood before she gave into her callous desires and went against her family's morals.

She had killed a human that week...

And she ignored every fiber in her being telling her she should regret what she had done.

"I thought I saw you... attack a guy." Alice was careful with her words, obviously she had not trusted herself enough to speak with the confidence to make an accusation. "But when I got home, you were already here."
