Chapter 10 Toast

(Red's POV)

By the time we got back, there was an hour until the dinner party

"Go start getting ready" Lenny told me, as soon as we were out the car

I nodded, smiling at her

"So, what did you think?" She asked me

"About?" I asked

"Kian" she smiled

Lenny opened the door and let me in

"He was....nice" I said

"Yeah, he seemed to really like you" she smiled, wiggling her eyebrows at me

"Who?" I heard my mate ask from the living room

I turned to look at Julian

He looked serious and tense

"No one Alpha, just one of my friends who seemed to take a liking to my little sister" Lenny smiled

Julian growled a little

I was silently begging for Lenny to shut up, but I couldn't actually say anything

"It was nothing" I said, looking into his eyes

"You alright, alpha?" Lenny asked

'It's okay, your my mate' I mouth to him

He seemed to relax, but his eyes were still dark

"I'm good, you should go get ready for tonight" he told us

My sister nodded and smiled, walking past me

Before I left, he gave me a 'we will talk later' look

I nodded my head and walked up to my bedroom

I quickly showered and changed into my dress

I walked out of my bathroom to hear someone knocking on my door

"Come in" I called out

My sister walked out in a black dress and her hair parted to the side

"That dress really looked fantastic on you" she told me

I smiled and nodded my head

"Come on, I'll do you make-up" she told me

"Alright" I said

Lenny took my arm and sat me down infront of my mirror

She sat infront of me and took out her make-up bag and started adding it to my face

"So, the alpha likes you" she told me

"What?" I asked, opening my eyes

"Alpha Julian, he really likes you" she told me

"Yeah, he is....cool" I said

"Cool?" She asked

I nodded my head and smiled

"Hmm"

"Alright, all done" she smiled

She got up, moving away from the mirror

I looked at myself and smiled

My make-up looked perfect with my white dress and my orange red hair, real flawlessly over my shoulders

"Pure perfection" my sister smiled

I giggled and shook my head

"Let's go" she said, grabbing my hand in hers

We both walked throught the hall and down te stairs together

I realized that Winter, Oliver, Karen, and Julian were all waiting for us

"Beautiful" Winter and Oliver both said, smiling at me

Karen smiled at her sons as Julian staired straight at me with a gorgeous smile

His blue eyes were bright

Winter walked over to the stairs and wrapped his arms around me

He spun me around, as his arm clamped tightly around me

I giggled loudly, holding onto him

He stopped spinning and set me down on my feet

Winter let go of me, but I was so dizzy that I nearly fell down

I felt two people reach out to me

My left arm exploded with electricity

I knew that my mate had my left arm

"Thanks" I said

"Of course" Oliver smiled at me

I looked up to my mate and I could tell by his dark blue eyes that he was frustrated and angry

Neither of them let go of my arms

So I did the only thing I could do to comfort him

I brought my hand up to his and padded it twice

I looked up to his eyes and smiled

He seemed to calm down and slowly, they both started to let go of me

"You look beautiful" Karen said, pushing past her husband and son to hug me

I smiled and thanked her

"How about we all sit down?" Lenny asked, showing up behind me

Everyone agreed

Winter, Oliver, Lenny, and Karen all walked infront of Julian and I, talking about something

"You look extravagant" Julian told me, smiling

"Thank you" I smiled at him "you look very handsome yourself" I said

He chuckled and nodded

By the time we got to the dining room, almost everyone was seated at the table

Karen was at the end, Oliver and Winter seated on either side of her and then Lenny was to the right, next to Oliver

Julian took his seat at the other end of the table

The only seat open was the one to the left of Julian

I took a deep breath and sat down, as he smiled down on me

"Okay, i'd like to propose a toast, to both Ella and Julian. As always, we have a tradition. Every year for Julian's birthday we all gather, every single one of us, his family to celebrate the life of our Alpha. This year, we welcome a new family member, Ella. We hope that you grow to love us, as much as we will grow to love you. Without further do, to Julian and Ella" Karen said, smiling as she held up a glass full of what I thought was Champagne

"To Ella and Ju-" everyone started, but we all heard the sound of glass shattering

For new what was going on, Julian was on the floor, with an arrow sticking out of his left shoulder

"Nooooo!" I heard Karen scream

I looked down and saw that Julian was knocked out unconscious

He wasn't moving

He wasn't breathing

And my heart stopped
