Jihyun opened the door to her apartment and the five of them walked in. She quickly picked up a few pieces of clothing that were on the sofa and threw them into her room "it's a bit small compared to how idols and rich people usually live but I like to keep things simple" she smiled weakly "Would you guys like some tea?" the guys all nodded and Jihyun went into the kitchen. A few minutes later, she was back with a tray that had five teacups on it, a ceramic teapot and a glass jar of honey. Ximen smirked a bit when he saw the honey. Jihyun set down the tray and placed a cup in front of each of them "I'm sorry but I only have Chrysanthemum tea until I go shopping this week" Her hands were still a bit shaky as she poured the tea into the cups. She put a bit of honey in four of the teas and was about to put it in the fifth one but Si had already picked up the cup "Si are you sure you don't want some honey in that?" she asked. Si shook his head which made the other three guys smirk. Lei, Ximen, and Meizuo watched Si take a sip of his tea and they laughed as his face scrunched up from the bitterness. Jihyun slightly shook her head "Chrysanthemum tea is bitter. The honey balances out that bitterness" she smiled slightly as she put a bit of honey in Si's tea. Si nodded, slightly embarrassed and Meizuo laughed "Ximen told us about Chrysanthemum tea a couple of weeks ago. You really don't listen to his little lessons" Ximen nudged Meizuo with his foot and his friend smiled teasingly. Jihyun laughed slightly and picked up the tray after she put the pout and honey back on it. She walked back to the kitchen and Lei followed her.
Lei took the tray out of Jihyun's hands "What happened earlier?" he was concerned "I haven't seen you that shaken up before after speaking with Alex" Jihyun froze in place and the jar of honey slipped out of her hands and shattered on the floor. The sound of glass shattering got the attention of the other three who came running to the kitchen to see what had happened. Jihyun quickly snapped out of her trance and began cleaning up the mess. Ximen looked to Lei "Is everything okay?" Lei shook his head "I don't think it is" Lei looked to his female friend "Jihyun you froze at the mention of his name again. You can't avoid it forever. What happened between you two?" Jihyun sighed and put the shattered glass in the bin. She then turned to the guys "You want to know why I freeze up when I hear his name? fine then...I'll tell you" she gestured for them to go back to the living room.
The five of them sat around Jihyun's coffee table and Jihyun held her teacup tightly "I met Alex seven years ago at an award show" she spoke softly "He seemed like a nice guy, so we became friends. A year later he asked me to be his girlfriend. I didn't really know how I was feeling so I just said yes" she looked at her tea "Everything was great for the first three years but then he suddenly changed" Lei put his hand on her shoulder "he began staying out late all night and sometimes when he came to visit me, he would smell of another woman's perfume. I wasn't allowed to contact Lei so I had a separate phone so he wouldn't find out, but someone saw Lei and me together a few times and Alex..." Jihyun's words got caught in her throat and tears started forming in her eyes. Jihyun's hands started shaking and she squeezed her eyes shut. The four guys looked at each other and Ximen spoke up "He'd hit you, wouldn't he?" Jihyun looked up "He never physically harmed me. He would emotionally and mentally abuse me, but he never laid a hand on me." Lei's hands clenched slightly "That's why you stopped hanging out with me. Alex was hurting you every time you saw me" Jihyun took a deep breath and opened her eyes "It was like that for three years. After six years of being with him, I just couldn't handle it, so I broke it off on international tv. I knew it was the only way to be free of him and so he couldn't lash out at me otherwise he would ruin his reputation" She put her teacup back on the table and began fiddling with the teacup shaped pendant hanging around her neck "You four are the only ones who know. Please don't say a word to anyone, not even your girlfriends" the last part of Jihyun's sentence made all the guys smile, except Ximen. Lei patted Jihyun's shoulder "Si is the only one with a girlfriend out of us" Jihyun looked a bit surprised. She looked to Ximen and smiled weakly "I thought the four most handsome young men in Ming De would all have girlfriends" four of them laughed but Ximen didn't "How can you three laugh after hearing that?" he sounded angry which surprised the guys since Ximen was rarely angry "I know Jihyun was trying to make light of the situation in the end but this is serious. What if Alex actually comes after her?" Meizuo smirked "Then either me, you or Lei can pretend to be her boyfriend, so he backs off" Jihyun laughed slightly "that would never work. From what I have heard about you and Ximen, neither of you have actually had a steady relationship and Lei likes someone else" She tucked her hair behind her ear.
After a while of the five of them talking, Jihyun realized that it was getting late "You guys should head home. It's almost 10 pm" she hurriedly cleaned up the teacups and put them in the kitchen. Jihyun then walked the four guys to Lei's car. She smiled as they all got in the car except for Ximen "I almost forgot to give these back to you" he passed Jihyun her phone and her keys to her bike. The green-eyed, young woman smile softly"thank you Ximen" she took her phone and her keys and watched him get into the car. She waved as the four guys drove off.
