You're My Love Song - Ximen x OC(TEMPORARY PAUSE)

Chapter 4

Jihyun couldn't get off the university campus fast enough. The moment her class ended, she ran out the door and to her motorbike. She just wanted to get out of there and to the comfort of her apartment. Jihyun was so focused on getting to her bike, that she ran right past Shancai and Lei, who had called out to her a couple of times. When she didn't respond, Lei knew that Jihyun's mind was elsewhere and so he told Shancai not to worry. Lei sent out a group text to the other F4 members, asking about meeting up to organize another trip. Meizuo and Si both agreed to meet up but Ximen said he was busy that afternoon with a tea ceremony but in truth, he was planning on visiting Jihyun alone. Lei informed Shancai of what they were going to do and the two of them went to meet up with Si and Meizuo.

Thirty minutes after leaving campus, Jihyun arrived at her apartment building. She turned off her motorbike and took off her helmet. The day had been a complete mess from the beginning when Alex showed up. After that encounter with him, Jihyun hadn't been able to concentrate in any of her classes and she had almost gotten into trouble for it in her music class. She walked her bike into her parking space and then headed up to her apartment. When she got to her floor, she saw Ximen waiting outside her door "Ximen what are you doing here?" she was a bit surprised, considering what had happened earlier in the day. Ximen looked at Jihyun "I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier" the green-eyed female nodded slightly and unlocked her door "come in then" she spoke softly as she walked into her home and Ximen followed her. She put her bag down and took off her jacket "Would you like something to drink?" she was a lot more nervous than when it had been the four of them visiting her. This was the first time Ximen had come alone. Ximen smiled slightly "no thank you" he sat in his usual spot in the armchair closest to the window. Jihyun sat on the couch just in front of him. She had taken her hair out of the ponytail it was in and was now fiddling with the part that was hanging in front of her shoulder "You wanted to talk about what happened this morning" Ximen nodded in response.

Jihyun and Ximen spent the next two hours talking about the incident from that morning. "I understand why you slapped him" Ximen smiled slightly "He did deserve it. What I don't understand is why you put on a 'good girl' act" he looked at Jihyun who sighed. Her green eyes met with his brown ones "It wasn't always an act" she openly admitted "I was the 'Good Girl of Asia' when I met Alex. I was 13 when I met him in Japan. A year later he and his agent made a meeting with mine and discussed us being an upcoming celebrity couple. Naturally, my agent at the time thought it was a brilliant idea and so Alex and I started seeing each other as the Teenage Idol couple" Jihyun looked out the window "It was like a dream...until I turned 17. Then everything started going sour with our relationship" Ximen looked a bit concerned "what do you mean it went sour?" Jihyun looked at the young man. Her pale features were full of regret for her past "He became cold towards me. He would often belittle me and bully me. I would be scolded for the smallest thing like talking to Lei. I was that scared that I never let myself be alone with him" Ximen stood up and moved over to the couch next to Jihyun. The black-haired young woman looked at him "I even got my new agent to sign me up for self-defence classes and I put in their contract that my personal life is not something they can make arrangements for" She laughed a bit at what she just said "once I turned 20, I got so sick of how Alex treated me. For the last three years of our relationship, I kept telling myself that he would change but he never did. He got worse and I found it more difficult to be the 'Good Girl of Asia' and I started lashing out. Turns out I tend to bottle up my emotions, hence why I slapped Alex" she looked away slightly as she finished speaking.

As Ximen looked at Jihyun, he noticed that her voice had become softer again when she spoke unless she was talking about her ex. He placed his hand on hers "You don't need to pretend to be someone you're not" Ximen's words made Jihyun look at him "That experience taught you that people aren't always what they seem. You learned from it. Plus, Alex thinks you are my girlfriend so he shouldn't really bother you now, right?" Jihyun raised and a brow and smiled slightly "How much did Lei tell you?" she asked him. Ximen smiled "Not a lot. Few bits and pieces that he experienced when he faced Alex a few years ago" Jihyun nodded and turned her body to face Ximen "then you should know that he won't give up so easily. Alex wants to claim me as his celebrity wife, so his status is raised. He lost a lot of fans when I dumped him" she smirked "we need to be believable. You've never actually had a girlfriend. You know a lot about women from what I have observed but you don't actually get attached to them" Ximen was a bit surprised by how much Jihyun knew about him. Jihyun noticed this and leaned closer to him, which made him lean back a bit "I want to know why you keep yourself emotionally detached. I have a feeling it had something to do with your parents being divorced but I am not going to pry since it most likely is a harmful memory" she leaned back away from him. Ximen was even more surprised "How did you know about my parents?" he asked her. Jihyun was about to answer when there was a loud banging on her door. This made both Jihyun and Ximen stand up. Jihyun started walking to the door but the moment a familiar male voice started shouting through the door, Ximen took hold of Jihyun's arm and pulled her back.

Alex Chu stood on the other side of Jihyun's front door. He was banging and shouting for Jihyun to open up. He heard someone walking to the door and he got ready to barge in when it opened. The door opened and Alex came face to face with Ximen Yan "What the fuck are you doing here?" Alex cursed. Ximen smirked slightly "This is my girlfriend's apartment. I am allowed to spend time with her" his response was calm and collected which pissed Alex off more. Jihyun stood behind Ximen and she couldn't help but giggles a bit at his answer to Alex. The male star saw Jihyun and barged passed Ximen. This made Jihyun back away "Get out Alex. I never said you could come in here. And how did you find my place?" she ran over to Ximen. Alex explained that he followed Ximen and waited to see how long he was going to stay here "two hours is a very long visit. You never let me be alone with you, but he can be. That is not very nice Jiji" Alex stepped closer to the two "Don't call me that. My name is Jihyun, not Jiji. The only time I will answer to another name is when Ximen calls me" Jihyun held onto Ximen's arm. Ximen saw this as a sign to get her out of the apartment. Unfortunately, Alex had moved to block the door, so Ximen sneakily speed-dialled Si. Jihyun tugged Ximen's arm slightly and nodded to her bedroom. The two of them quickly made it to the room and shut the door, barricading it with Jihyun's dressing table "I have no doubt that you can take him in a fight but I am not going to risk it" Jihyun sat on her bed. Ximen sat next to her and they listened to Alex shout and bang on the bedroom door. Ximen held Jihyun's hand, gently "I called Si. They know what's happening and should be on their way" Jihyun nodded, and they waited for their friends.

About ten minutes had gone by and Jihyun was getting worried that Alex would break through the door leading to her room. She was pacing around and jumping slightly every time she heard a bang on the door. Ximen noticed her rising anxiety and he stood up and walked over to her "they should be here any minute now" he tried to reassure her "remember they were at Si's house. That's roughly a fifteen-minute drive" no sooner had Ximen said that they heard a loud crash of glass shattering and a thud of someone hitting the floor. Ximen and Jihyun moved the dressing table and opened the door. Alex was on the floor and Si was on top of him. Lei, Meizuo, and Shancai were all by the door. Shancai saw Jihyun and Ximen and ran over to them "Are you two ok?" she asked, her voice full of concern. They both nodded. Lei walked over to Jihyun and pulled her into his arms "When Si picked up Ximen's call we were all confused at first because he wasn't responding. Si put the call on speaker, and we heard Alex" Jihyun didn't look at anyone. She kept her head down. Ximen noticed that Jihyun's hands were clenched and that she was slightly shaking.

Si still had Alex pinned and Shancai told him to get off the star. Naturally, Si listened to his girlfriend and got off Alex. The moment Alex stood up, Jihyun's head snapped up and her green eyes were full of rage "You son of a bitch!" she shouted. This surprised her friends "Why couldn't you just leave me alone?" tears had formed in her eyes "I was happy being without you! I proved I don't need you and that I don't love you!" Ximen could hear the hurt in Jihyun's voice and he took hold of her hand. Alex saw this and he went to hit Ximen, but Jihyun was the one who blocked him this time. She grabbed Alex's arm and twisted it behind his back "Don't you dare touch him" her voice got dangerously low "If you even think of harming anyone in this room or anyone associated with me and F4, I will personally make sure you are locked up" she pushed Alex away from her and he landed on the couch. Alex got up and cursed under his breath then left the apartment. After he left, Jihyun stumbled back a bit and fell to the floor. She was shaking terribly, and her breathing was hitched. Ximen knelt beside her and the others ran over to her "She can't stay here on her own" Meizuo spoke up "He'll definitely come back when we leave" the others agreed. Lei went into Jihyun's room while the others tried to figure out what to do and tried to calm Jihyun down. Shancai looked at Ximen "What if she stayed with you" she suggested, "You did claim her as your girlfriend in order to protect her right?" Ximen nodded "I said that so Alex would back off, but it only made him more adamant to be with Jihyun" Lei came back out with Jihyun's suitcases "then she can stay with me" he spoke softly but clearly. Jihyun spoke up "No. He'll expect me to go to Lei's place. He knows you too well. He doesn't know Ximen though" Lei knelt beside his friend "are you sure?" he asked softly. Jihyun smiled weakly and nodded "This way, Ximen and I can keep up with the fake relationship act" Lei nodded, knowing that this was the best solution for Jihyun. The six friends then walked down to Lei's car with Jihyun's luggage. Jihyun gave Si her keys to her bike and to her place "I'll send someone to collect the rest of your things and take them to Ximen's place" he smiled a little. Jihyun nodded and got into the car.
