Everybody started running. Okay, where to go now? Argh… where’s Jake? Jacob?
Then somebody grabbed my hand. Jake?
I looked up, no its Jacob.
“Come on!” He said with an impatient face. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but, I thought I just saw him blush.
“Hey don’t just stand there, let go” he said. “What the hell are you staring at?”
“Nothing, nothing…” I said feeling my face heat up a little.
I saw him staring at me for a moment before I broke the awkward silence, “Let’s go!” I shouted.
He covered my mouth and dragged me to a ladder leading to the roof. “Hey, you go first. I‘ll hold the ladder for you.” He whispered into my ear.
“Um you sure we can go up? Aren’t we-“I got cut off by Jacob who tries to push me up the ladder. I looked down and Jacob who’s still looking impatient.
“J-Jacob… I c-can’t do it…” I stuttered. “I’m a-afraid of h-“
Suddenly Jacob lifted me up, bridal style. I felt the both of us going up the ladder. I held him tightly closing my eyes.
Bits and pieces of what happened when I was 6 came back. I felt a slight pain in my chest as I was put down. I should forget the pas-
“Hey Iris, you okay?”
Jacob put me down and I looked up to see him really worried. I nodded. I then began to calm down and relax a little.
Jacob’s here I’m not alone. And I have Jake. Now all I gottta do is to rest for a while. I closed my eyes.
Then I felt somebody holding me.
My eyes snapped open. I turned to see Jacob hugging me from the back with his head on my shoulder. A small smile made up to my lips, but was quickly turned into a blush when I noticed I was sitting between Jacob’s legs.
“Iris, let’s stay like this for a while, I’m sorry for just now. I know how it feels like when you have a phobia.”
I listened to him quietly facing the front.
“I also had this when I was little. It sucks when you have to go up higher ground. But I overcome it later on. You can do it too, I‘ll help you.”
“You promise?” I said holding out my pinkie.
“Yeah I promise.” He replied, giving a smile as he hooked our pinkies together.
What happened to the confident jerk a while ago? He’s like a completely different person now. I guess he’s not so bad…
:D finished! Sorry this time’s a shorter chapter cause I had a hard time thinking of whether I should make it a Jacob moment or Jake moment
