chapter 33-
"Nice of you to join us at this hour, Miss Summers" Mr what's his name, narrowed his eyes at me.
I grinned sheepishly and scanned the class for a seat. Rachel was at the back of the class waving like mad woman, it really was a sight. I trotted back, with my head hung low as the teacher continued his lesson.
I plonked next to Rachel was glaring at me.
"Hi?"
"Hi? You've been gone for weeks and all I deserved was a hi? What kind of a friend are you!" She half-shouted but was told off by the teacher.
"It was two days, less than a week, Rach. You're overreacting." I spoke in a hushed voice.
"Yeah? Well, you didn't had to sit at the cafeteria alone, waiting for a friend that you know wouldn't come! And I didn't know what happen to you, you don't even respond to my text." She ranted on.
Oops. She texted?
"Okay, how about we hang out today? Since you've missed my ass that much" I responded, teasingly.
She nod in agreement. "Hell yeah! Sure, I missed your ass" She rolled her eyes as she trailed off.
"We'll go straight after right? Cause I've got something on in the evening." I spoke, feeling excited. It's been a while since I've spent time with girls. It's been Arnold, the Charters or Dylan. I shuddedred, oh Dylan.
"Yeah, that's the plan. Unless I've got detention today, which I doubt it. But why though? You've got a date with a certin Charter brother?" She gave me a knowing smile, causing me to flush.
"I-I do not!" I denied. "It's not even a date. I've got to make dinner for my lazy ass cousin"
Images of me dating Dylan flashed through my mind. Oh god, the horror. I shuddered. That'd be so wrong and so gross.
"So, you're dating your c-" I didn't let her finish.
"No!" I shouted in horror.
"Then, wh-" She got cut off again, but this time, it wasn't me.
Someone else cleared his throat. Oh no, we're dead.
"Excuse me, are you girls finished? Or do you want to continue your conversation in detention today?" the teacher spoke sternly and by now, every head was turned at our direction. I felt my face turn red, why did raise my voice? Why?
"No thank you sir" Rach spoke in a british accent that cause me to snap my head in her direction. "We are terribly sorry and it will not happen again, I believe you will forgive our foolishness"
I snorted, but quickly replaced it with a cough, earning a death glare from Rachel.
There was a moment of silence, then,"Well...Miss Heywood, don't let it happen again" As his shocked expression was replaced with an impressed one as he continued with students and their long and unsightly hair.
“What did you know, Rachel can sound civil” I said in a hushed voice, which was threatening to attract Mr what’s-his-name’s attention again.
Rachel sniggered but then caught what I said then rolled her emerald eyes at me. “Yeah, that’s the way to thank me”
I stuck my tongue at her then returning my attention to whatever the teacher was saying. Well, I could catch what the old man was saying but it was definitely something about drugs. Boring much? Wasn’t this English literature or something?
