Sometimes having a mate that is also immortal can be fun. We have all eternity to do and experience every dangerous thing and not have to worry about getting hurt or dying. Which is kind of ironic since technically we're both already dead. But either way, we jump off cliffs, terrifying monster hunters, and hunt together. He spread his wings before we hit the ground and flew us to the cave we found as kids.

Its walls glistened with crystals and other naturally beautiful objects and creatures. To any mortal, this cave seems ordinary and worth exploring. But we knew better than to trust the beauty that appealed to the eye. Everything in this cave was poisonous and lethal.

Any normal creature or human would drop dead in this cave in a matter of seconds due to the toxic fumes that are emitted by the animals that live in this cave. Animals like poison dart frogs, armed spiders, and deathstalker scorpions.

I sometimes take refuge in this cave during the day because I hate sunlight. It hurts my eyes, which is why I only go outside at night or on cloudy days.

"You seem quiet. What's happened while I was gone?"

"Well, we have a new kid...She's a six-year-old girl. She can change into any animal or animal-like creature. Her name is Diodotus."

"When did this happen."

"A couple of weeks ago."

We sat there in silence for a moment. Collecting our thoughts on what to say next.

"There's something you're not saying. I can feel it."

"She's trying to kill me for some reason. She thought holy water was going to kill me. But to her disappointment, I'm still here ...She's trying to figure out my other side."

He stood up. "Speaking of which. we need to go to the top again." He grabbed me and flew me up before I could protest.

"Why are we up here again?"

"To trigger your wings." He drew in his wings and bound them with some twine he had in his pocket. He then walked to the edge and leaned forward. Without thinking I dove after him. But plummeted towards him and gripped him around his chest. Something was slowing us down. I looked back and saw a pair of black wings.

'I'm flying' "I'M FLYING!" I flapped my wings harder and harder. Faster and faster until I finally pulled us up back towards the top of the cave once again. I put him down and ripped the twine from his wings freeing him. He turned towards me and exclaims.

"Your wings! They're so big and beautiful! And they're black just like mine!." He sounds happy and triumphant at his success.

"But why would you tie yourself up and dive off a cliff? You almost gave me a heart attack." I said and grabbed him by his shoulders.

"I had to make a protective instinct more present. Even though neither of us can die. I knew you didn't want me to get hurt.

He then surprised me by kissing my cheekbone causing me to blush scarlet. We heard someone or something land behind.

"So that's what you're other side is. Part vampire and part fallen angel."

We turned towards the voice. Only to see the little demon herself Diodotus.

"Is this her?"

"Yes, That's the girl."

He lunged at her. Teeth bared went at her neck. But I couldn't let him bite her. I grabbed him and tied him to a tree. And trapped the poor girl in the cave with a nearby boulder. She'll either die or be passed out for a very long time. Azrael was fuming when I came back to him.

"Why didn't you let me kill her?" He was surprisingly calm.

"You don't want her blood on her hands your hands and neither do I," I responded and untied him.

I don't remember much from the course of the day. I was in the form of some animal that can't really see that well. It might've been a Jaguar or a Tiger. I saw Lourdes with some guy I've never seen before. Both of them had wings. Black wings!Instead of reporting my findings to the sea witch. I decided to be dumb and go towards the two. After I finished saying my discovery. I was tackled by the guy almost killing me. I was thrown into a cave and suddenly everything went black.

I woke up again. I don't know how much time has passed. All I knew was that everything felt and looked hazy. I struggled to stand up but my legs ache in protest. I must've landed pretty hard. Or something that happened during the time I was passed out. But I guess the latter of the two.

Azrael and I flew to the house. We almost broke the door down. As we rushed inside, we had to find Bodhi. He knew what to do in these situations. I had to scan the entire house but of course, he had to be in the backyard playing with some fire.

"Bodhi we have a problem and need your help."

After explaining what happened and bringing him to the cave where the girl lay unconscious or dead. He advised we open the cave. I pushed the boulder aside to see the girl trying to move but the toxins have disabled her. Which is good, since she won't be able to defend herself.

"My, my, my she sure is small, isn't she? Grab her and bring her to me."

I dragged her practically lifeless body to him and dropped her at his feet, He started to make air go into her body. She started to move and sat up on her knees. He then pulled out a small glowing orange orb. He took the opportunity that she was gasping for air. He sent the orb into her mouth. Her eyes and mouth started glowing orange. She convulsed and then eventually collapsed. I could no longer hear a heartbeat or breathing.

She was just, limp. She was dead. The cave seemed like a more merciful death. Even if she would've been in pain throughout the process.

"What're we going to do with the body?" Azrael asked suddenly.

I was wondering the same thing.

"Well, I know that we're not gonna eat it. Can't you make the body disappear with a spell or something ...Wait a minute. What time is it?

I realized a certain mermaid-like creature had to feed today.

"It's 4 and a quarter."

I picked up the body of the ill-fated girl and walked over to the lake.

"Iggy it's mealtime. I got a special one for you." Igna appeared at the surface of the water. I dumped the body in the water. and watched as it tugged under the surface.
