Tension seemed to linger over everyone. Everyone's gaze seemed to linger more often than it used to. Like they expecting, waiting for something to happen. I think they were waiting for me to snap. They knew I didn't like Vesna and that she is now dead by my hands. That would make five people who are dead at my hands and 15 of my friends who think I'm an insatiable murderer.

"Babe, what are you thinking about ?" Azrael broke my thoughts.

"Murder." I deadpanned

"You're always thinking about that. What specifically are you thinking about?"

I paused and thought about how to put how I felt into words.

"Am I a Monster?"

All eyes were on me. The whole room seemed to hold its breath. Several minutes passed and I received no answer just silence. I stood up to leave.

"Good to know that the people I care about think I'm a dangerous freak."

With that, I disappeared. I could hear everyone but I didn't respond. I flew until the muscles in my back hurt. But even still I continued. I flew until my back almost started bleeding from having to support my wings. Only then did I stop. Only then did I fold my wings around me and allowed me to free fall. My eyes snapped open at a roar. Correcting myself I looked at the beautiful creature.

He was massive. I never saw one in real life. The huge green-scaled creature seemed intimidating but I couldn't find it in me to be scared. I flew towards it. Something drawing me closer. It growled the closer I got. But then it seemed like realization dawned on both of us as we got a closer look. The creature snarled at me as I touched its face. But didn't move to bite or move away. He seemed familiar but I couldn't place why.

'Man, if only Page could see this.'

My eyes trailed to a branding mark on a hind leg. A large flame symbol. I climbed onto his back and he spread his wings. He took off without any instructions. As we flew we went over the house. The sun began to set. I closed my eyes and looked away as tears began to well.

"Stop!" I shouted and the creature stopped his voyage. I spread my wings and jumped.

"Wait here. I'll be back in a second."

I flew towards the house. I was determined to grab some of my stuff and Page. If the others didn't believe I wasn't a monster I wasn't going to convince them. The house was quiet as if waiting. I grabbed a bag and some clothes. I then flew to Page's room. She was sound asleep.

'Good' I thought. I wrapped a blanket around her and held her to my chest as I heard footsteps. The door opened and I ran to the window. My mate ran for me as I jumped and disappeared for the second time that day. This time with the dragon hybrid in my arms. The dragon was startled into flying again as I appeared on his back again.

........

I woke up to the feeling of cold air against my skin. I looked down at Page and saw that she was still sound asleep. I took my cloak out of my bag and wrapped it around us. I then looked around at my surroundings and was amazed at the beautiful mountains and lit alpine huts and chalets. The dragon seemed to be making its descent. Stopping at a huge stone castle. He landed and there seemed to be a woman with a lantern waiting for him in a fur cloak.

"Anata, there you are!I've had people looking everywhere for you."

She then glanced towards me as I dismounted. She seemed alarmed and gestured towards the guards behind her.

"Who are you?" She demanded

"I'm Lourdes Darrow and this is Page," I said pulling back my cloak to show her the child.
