I struggled to open my eyes to the blinding light, finally getting them to adjust. I moved my head from side to side, taking in my surroundings. My bed sat in the middle of a large white hospital rooms, machines beeped steadily all around me.
I tried to touch my face, my pulse quickened as I realized my hands and legs were bound to the metal bars of the bed.

My breathing got heavier as I fought against my restraints, images start to run through my mind as I remember the face of the man who shot me, the pain I felt, and Natasha's heartbroken eyes as she looked down at me.
The machines beep louder and the door bursts open to let in a group of people dressed in white.

"Whats going on?" I demand as I continue to fight against my restraints, "Let me go!"

"Sedate her, shes not ready." A man with grey hair instructs.

"No!" I yell. "I want you to answer me. Tell me what the hell is going on!"

"We're going to help you." The man with grey hair pushed back his glasses, "But now you need to sleep."

A man to my left injected something in my IV making me sleepy instantly. I fought it for as long as I could, but I drifted away.

■■■

I regained consciousness what felt like minutes later.
The room that was once filled with men in lab coats was now empty. I had no idea how much time had passed or what happened back at the facility.
I remember being shot, I remember Nat holding me... and then nothing. Why am I being held here?
Why are restraining me?
Where is Bucky?
I need to see him.

I heard a door open and close, I turned my head in the direction of the soft noise and saw the same man from before. He calmly walked over to my side and took a seat in a chair.

"What's happening?" I asked the rude S.H.I.E.L.D agent.

"You were not well, we are helping you." he said, calmly taking off his glasses and placing them in his pocket.

"Who gave the order to restrain me?" I asked.

"I did." He smiled.

"Uncuff me." I ordered.

"They're for your own safety." He said.

"I need to see Bucky. Where is he?" I asked, surely Buck wouldn't stand for this.

"Oh yes, we know you mean a lot to him, and the rest of their team... which is why you're perfect." He smiled.

"Perfect for what?" I spat at the agent, "What are you talking about?Where's Coulson? Let me speak to him."

"Coulson?" He chuckled.

"Whats so funny?" I spat.

"Oh... you are a long way from home. S.H.I.E.L.D. can't save you now." He smiled as he got to his feet, pushing the chair away with a loud scraping sound.

"You're Hydra." I said almost inaudibly as I felt my heart sink.

"And your friends think you're dead." he chuckled.

"Dead?" I echoed.

"You died." The man continued to smile, "You've dead for three months, and unconscious for two meanwhile your wounds healed."

"This is a joke right?" I frowned in disbelief.

"No ones joking, you will be our new weapon." He leaned against the metal bars of my bed, "We will make you stronger, faster, smarter, and you will do as we say."

"And what makes you think I will agree?" I asked.

"Oh, you won't have a choice." He smiled.

"Lets get started." He said loudly.

A group people in lab coats walked in, I struggled against the metal restraints helplessly as they moved around me powering up several machines that came near me with needles which were simultaneously driven into my skin.

The pain was unimaginable, I screamed and begged them to kill me for hours as the grey haired man reassured me it would be over soon.

I must have lost consciousness during the procedure.

■■

I woke up feeling dizzy and weak. There was no more pain, no more needles.
I opened my eyes to the two monitors on either side of me, with what looks like a CAT scan of a brain, and various other information.

I'm seated on a metal chair, with my arms and legs restrained.

"Hello again." The man smiled. I look up at him without saying a word.

"So much hatred in your eyes." He mused.

"I'm going to kill you." I spoke through my teeth.

"I very much doubt that." He smiled, "Now open up." He held up a mouth guard.

I refused to obey his order, he grabbed my face in his hand and forced open my mouth, shoving the guard in place.

"Let's get started." He orders as my seat is suddenly pulled back and the machine powers on, clamping a price of machinery over my face and head.

■■■

I woke to the darkness of my small room. I put on my heavy combat uniform, made my bed and reported to the control room where I saluted my superior, Laake.

For months I've been studying the enemy, looking over files, planning strategies.

"We have come to a decision." Laake stated, adjusting the glasses on his face as I took my military stance awaiting orders.

"You are now ready to take your first mission. You start at once."

"Yes, sir." I replied.

I ordered my men in the hanger to await further intel. My twenty men lined up behind me in perfect rows as Laake walked in, we saluted and he handed me a folder with information.

"We know you won't disappoint us." he said to me.

"I won't, Sir." I said.

"Good." he replied

"Hail Hydra." I smiled.
